I'm done surfing, ready to start!! Is this a good first time setup???

I have seen on a lot of threads what people have done with bagseed and cfl's so I figured I would try my hand at it. I have one important question though. Using just the fertilizers I specified, will this be enough to have some pretty dank stuff? I have seen other grow jounals where they use merical grow soil and cfl's and it turns out with tons of crystals on it. If what I have specified isn't what I need to build up the thc on my plant let me know what I should use. Dont at all be afraid of telling me what I should change, im a scrub when it comes to this stuff.

Soil:
Miracle Grow Organic
Possibly add Earth Worm Castings

Fertilizer:
Miracle-gro for tomatos (for vegatative)
Miracle-gro Bloom Booster (for flowering)

Lighting:
6 X GE CFL Daylight Light Bulb: 26 Watt (100W Equiv) (6500k for vegatative)
6 X GE CFL Lightbulbs (softwhite) (2700k for flowering)

Thanks,

oK lookin good mon!!

How many plants you growin i need to know that and what are the watts on the flowering lights.pics would be nice.

I never use miracle grow anything, if it says 100% pure organic then its cool.

for nutes, find a hydroponic store in your area that carries tiger bloom, or anything by advanced nutrients. use 100% pure organic everything. for 1 plant use all lights for vegging although u really only need 4 0r 5, and have atleast 150watts of cfl for flowering, so 3 42 watt mids( 2600k) or 6 26watt mids and possibly a daylight or 2 for flowering. ill help you out more if you give me more details on number of plants and anything else. i grow with cfls all the time!

I'm going to start growing probably 5-6 of them to make sure I get some vagina in the bunch. Then Ill pick my best two ladies and love on them. I can't start until I move into my house next month because my apartment management is in my place wayyyy to much. They have walked in to show my place mid-bong-rip on three separate occasions so I figured growing would be a bad idea, especially if they know I toke. Ill be starting my journal in the next few weeks.

I'm for sure going to be using the tiger bloom instead of the bloom booster. Any other nutes you can recommend for the vegetative state instead of the miracle-gro for tomato's? I'd like something that's tried and true.

Another question, is it possible to overload it with plant nutrients? Like, is it to much to have the earthworm castings annd extra nutrients or should both be fine.

You can't really overload with worm castings unless you try to use it as soil. You can definitely overload regular fertilizers and "burn" your plants.

As far as picking out nutes, I don't touch MG - it's just too easy to screw stuff up with it. I grow with AN, so that's what I advise people to get. The Sensi 2-part is great for beginners.

your lumen output will be vertually non existent. if you want some potent, high yielding daughters you may want to invest in at least a 150-400 watt mh/hps horticulture light
many great deals can be found on google and ebay. lighting is important it determines your growth speed, node distances, and thusly your finished product,

I give unto you a QUEST!!!
you must go forth my disciple of horticulture and research lighting and the effect on the hemp plant. you must decide between the ONE RING....MADE OF BAMMER.
or THE ONE RING...MADE OF GIANT POTENT TRICHE FILLED BUDS OF OMG ROCKZORZ BOXORZ HALLELUJAH GANJA TASTIC STRAIN F-17 SHITINFUCKARIZONA.
choose wisely.....

i hate anything MG, not the quality you or any other grower wants.

as for lights, CFL's are fine for smaller grows and veggin. i have had some rediculus cfl/fluro buds (t5/cfl mix), trich production i find is quite amazing. 1000w hps if your looking for bigger yeilds.

I agree with d3k.

MG is just trouble. Some people do okay, most have problems.

And you don't have to have HPS to get a good crop. Yes, it will yield more with HPS if you do it right but CFLs will grow fine for you. Stick with them for this grow, then decide if you want to spend the money to upgrade.

Didn't read what the others posted...

Your going to need more light if you plan on doing anymore than 2 or 3 plants.

True, but that's the great thing about CFL - it's cheap 'n easy to expand.

Miracle Grow nay sayers can have a look here.

http://forum.grasscity.com/grow-jour...e-russian.html

You really shouldn't knock it unless you have tried it. I'm using regular MG potting soil with time released fertilizer and MG Perlite which has MG plant food infused in it. The key is not to over water it and release too much nutes all at once.

Regarding lights. You will need at least three spiral 42 watt cfls per plant to grow them out strong all the way through harvest. And if you're buying two sets of bulbs per plant you may want to consider a 400 watt HID. If you buy a digital ballast it will run both MH and HPS bulbs.

One last thing about CFLs... you're going to have to constantly be moving them around your plants to get optimal coverage. This can be chore and you will need to check on them often.
Peace.

Even a broken clock is right twice a day. MG doesn't kill every plant it touches or they wouldn't sell any. But it's just not a good thing to grow MJ with.

Can it be done reasonably well? Yes.

Does anyone grow truly superior bud off it? Not that I've seen, and definitely not often enough to call it a good fert for MJ. I mean it's just not something you see on the shelves of serious growers. It's harder to use and at its best is just kinda decent.

Check out my grow. My first time ever. Get the sockets and surge protectors for your lights. They are pretty cheap at walmart.
