First time grower with a few problems

Hey guys, I want to start a grow for personal use but I've got a few obstacles in my way. For starters, I live in an apartment community which provides free pest control, so that means someone comes into my apartment on the third Thursday of every month. Even if I'm not there, they have a key so they can come in. I actually only moved in a week ago, so I haven't been here to see exactly where he goes in my apartment. So that might be easily solved.

Secondly, my mom stops by my apartment every couple of months on the way to Atlanta (I live in Orlando and she's down in Ft. Lauderdale) and stays for a couple of days. Now my mom has come to terms with the fact that I'm a constant stoner but if she knew I was growing she'd go nuts and destroy my setup.

So that's my challenge, if any of you guys face similar problems, I'd really appreciate your advice. I'm also planning on using an autoflowering strain like lowryder or something and growing 2-4 plants at once. PLEASE if anybody has any tips for my situation let me know, I'm wasting too much money and I no longer have a job. I'm just about to start school in a few months and if I could get this going before then I'll be set. Thanks in advance!

my personal advice is: sometimes in life we have to think and have some responsibility so we do not get into trouble. Seems to me that for you, the better thing to do is NOT to grow right now. If you donīt have a job, having a constant visitor including family is going to be difficult, because the stealth setup is expensive to build and maintain.

Save you same trouble, study, get a good job and then start doing fun stuff like growing with a clean and trouble-free mind. Is what I did and Iīm glad

The choice is yours, but if you decide to grow, good luck!

its no good when family stops by when your plant is flowering.

1 week from harvest my parents decided to stop by my place with only 24 hours notice. talk about a close call.
i had to stick it in my roommates closet, stick a towel under his door, a box of laundry detergent next to it, climb out through the window and stick a huge fan blowing air out in the window sill. it worked nicely at keeping the smell out of the house.

tell your apt not to spray, tell them you will personally take care of it bacause you are highly allergic to toxins in pest sprays. i told my apt complex this and they will not and cannot by law spray in there.

They will not and Cannot spray your apt if you make them sign a consent form.
and reassure them that you are using household pest traps instead of sprays and contaminates.

i have done this before.

and if you have a maitenance problems, fix it yourself or go without.
my garbage disposal is still fucked up, has been for 1 month, but im waiting until i harvest to tell them about it. shit sucks but im not replacing their crap, i just throw the food in the trash now.

good luck to you and YES this will work.

I agree with bengt, I recently put together a stealth grow box and I only have a $300 dollar budget, I cut a few corners, it came out alright but I bought a cheaper fan to save a bit of money, well there went my stealth factor, that thing is loud as hell and I STILL ended up spending around 500 dollars. Now you could do it for cheaper, I have seen some pretty sweet rubbermaid tub grows in a closet and stuff, with CLFs and what not but unless you get a proper fan with a proper carbon filter it is not going to be stealthy. And all that stuff costs some money.

Wait a few months get a job start saving some cash, get like $500-$800 saved up and then do it, but I wouldn't suggest trying to build an entirely stealth cabinet with any thing less then $500 and even then you will have to budget like crazy and plan very seriously...

Also I would think twice about telling people where I lived, keep in mind anyone can register on these forums and post... Not saying that you shouldn't trust people... but you shouldn't trust people...
