alternative growing solutions?
besides aero growing, or hydro, I am curious what else I can use besides dirt, because it's way too messy and needs to be changed frequently.
I am wondering if I could use clean cat litter, tanbark, or lava rocks, are any of those a possibility? I just seem to be having the worst luck growing lately.. I am open to suggestions. help me out guys =] |

cat litter wont work because there are chemicals in it that are meant to absorb water. even if it is clean and there are no chemicals, the product is still designed to absorb things, so your plants will die.
tanbark will probably rot, and that will also probably kill your plants. using lava rocks would be the same as any other hydro system. hydro is really easy in my opinion, just monitor your pH, and buy factory nutes. and you'll be fine.
