how long can seeds last

how long can seeds last
i wont be able to grow for 3 years and i have some good seeds ....will they live that long???
i keep them in a plastic baggie in a sock in a drawer.....

Yup, just make sure they say dry in a cool dark place. Drawer will work.

haha, i had seeds in the console of my truck for like 4 weeks. i just picked em out and threw em in there. they sprouted just fine.

A seed is a living thing, and when you put it into a cold environment, the life cycle of the seed slows down. This also means that the degradation slows which in turn means that your seed will last longer than it normally would in an environment where the life cycle of the seed continues at it's normal pace....it's why we put fruit and veg and herbs in the fridge...it slows down the life cycle and the decay, it's the same principle for your seeds
