very new in growing

ok ive thought about growing before and thought that if i could grow my own then id save $ well i had a few questions

if i were to order would the packaging say "from _____" on it or is there like a "code word"
im living in a place where i cant really have a set up (lights and what not) what can i do does it just take longer to grow or not work
and is there something that will help me step by step in growing or am i just winngin it

i really only want a few plants not alot really

oh another question how much does a plant produce and how long does it take and ive heard about germating them or something and checking to see if its male or female seed

honestally i am completely lost on this subject so i would really like it if someone was generous enough to help me out here

You can't tell if its a male or female seed.
and your probably completely lost gave you haven't done any research, AT ALL! Read alot of the stickies and read the Overgrow FAQ.
