new grow area, first time.

so basically this is what i got setup. i am by all meana an absolute, complete, and total noob.

I have a fish tank in my closet that holds something like 40 gallons. in it i have 4 plants each about 6 inches tall. i have 2 flouros hanging about 3-4 inches above the plants. I have a revolving fan in there to circulate air. and i have the temperature at about 75-80 constantly. i am using 18/6 lighting cycles as my plants are about 3 weeks old. there is mirror tape on the walls of the tank to reflect the light. and i water the plants about twice a day just so they are damp.

sorry if thats hard to read im kinda baked. i just need some suggestions/ tips.

thanks GC!

EDIT: also when do i have to move the plants from the small pots to bigger ones? or do i have to at all?

ok whats the fish tank for? and unless you have the pot inthe fish tank and floros on top of that.what size are you pots? i dnt go above a 1.5gallon pot, and still get 3-4 foot plants in soil, producing around 1.5-2oz each.
if there in soil, i wuld not be watering them that much at all, unless your pot are really small. dnt look at the surface soil and think they need watering because most of the time they dnt, stick your finger in right down to the knuckle and that will tell you if hey need water.better still get a moister meter there really cheap and easy to use,you can pick one up for next to nothing.

Those pots should be fine for quite a while into veg but I'd recommend switching into slightly bigger for flowering. As far as watering, water until there is runoff at the bottom, about 10-20% when using synthetic ferts. which most of us do. Then leave dirt to dry out to very light and let the plants search for water. You know you've over done it if plants start to dropp at all. NEVER feed a dehydrated plant, water, wait half an hour or more then water again with significant runoff with the fert solution.
