coloring on early plants
Didn't know exactly where to post this but hope someone has a clue.

Have you guys ever noticed that some plants have a red or purple coloring on the stalk for the first week or so and some don't? Is this an early indicator of some other trait in the plant or what? I guess it could be completely random but I suspect otherwise.

All input, theories, or facts appreciated. Thanx!

There are some deficiencies and even over fertilization that presents with purple stems but if the plant otherwise looks green then it is just a strain characteristic.

Well I went and checked on my little ones. I have a few identified as slightly indica and some sativas. Neither are 100% on the coloring some just do and some don't. Maybe it's just a pigment thing like a red hair strain or something. But is there an indica redhair?

Yep that's pretty common but doesn't seem to have much of an effect in my experience.
