Organic vs. Not? Fert Question

I've got a fairly large crop of outdoor plants, just bagseed. My first grow.

I've got two fertilizers at my house, Miracle Grow All Purpose(24-8-16) and this other hawaiian something or other(9-18-9). I've been using the Miracle grow because it's fairly close to the 20-10-10 often recommended by people for the veg stage.

My friend flipped out when he found out I was using miracle grow saying it wasn't organic and the buds will be full of bad chemicals. Is this true? Is there a difference in organic and non-organic ferts? I'm sure theres endless debating involved but give me what help you can. Thanks!

there really is nothing wrong with using ferts, as long as you 'flush' your plants before harvest, because you don't want those chems in your plant at the end, because they taste HORRIBLE! it's usually reccomended if your using ferts to feed your plants straight water for the last week of flowering to flush all those ferts out.

I think hes saying that because theres so much negativity online twards miracle gro products that started with their soil. People tried to use them for MJ and found out their pre nuted soil doesnt have a high chance for success. It is better to stay organic IMO though.

I can tell you, I prefer to stay away from any miracle grow product, and try to stay as organic as possible, however this isnt to say it wont be successful. People have used it before and proly continue to use it.
As iryad stated, if you decide to use it, just make sure you flush (which everyone should do no matter what you use) before harvest.
