Harvest time?

I planted about 7 days ago, my little babies are looking very strong and are sitting at about 2.5 inches above the soil line.

My growing environment is good, and at the moment it is getting 24/0 with Daylight CFL's, and growing in soil. The entire closet is lined with reflective material and the tiny parts that are not are painted white.

Here is my problem, my lease is up in the middle of July and my girlfriend and I are moving into a house(we are in an apartment now). I do not want to risk transporting the plants to a new environment so late in the grow.

My question is, do you think I will be able to harvest before my lease is up? I know that times vary, and at that point the plant will be about 12-13 weeks old.

My other question is, if I do happen to transport them, they will be in the flowering stage which means they will be on the 12/12 cycle, and under new lighting. They are in containers that are easily movable so that wouldn't be the issue. If I moved the plants at night, in black plastic bags, into a new environment that is as close to 100% like the other one as I can get, will they survive? I am just worried about putting the stress on them that late in the grow.

thanks in advance.

-C

why not just switch to 12/12 now?

they will be small, but they'll produce a little...

I was going to switch to a 12/12 in about a week and a half, I want to get some fertilizer in there during the veg stage. Flora Nova was recommended to me during flowering, even for soil growing.

How small are we talking, and would you recommend side lighting this early so I can make up in width what I am going to lose in height?

You're not going to make up much in width or height if you switch your plants to 12/12, regardless of where the lights are located, because that light cycle causes the plants to put more energy into bud production rather than growth that will produce new bud sites. However, more lights will help the harvest overall. Anyways, you can switch to 12/12 whenever you want, but if the plant isn't mature enough it won't start to flower (generally the veg stage takes about a month, although that varies some from plant to plant).

By the time you lease is up, your plants may or may not be ready to harvest, the only way to know when they're ready is to look at the color of the trichs, no one can predict exactly when they'll be ready for you.

You don't have to worry too much about your new grow space not being 100% like your old one, you just have to make sure that the plants are getting enough light, fresh air, etc. A move without transplanting to new soil probably wouldn't stress them too badly, unless you expose them to light during their dark period. I'd recommend moving them during their light cycle, as that way it won't matter if they're exposed to light or not.

You could also just chop the plants as close to your move-out date as possible, but again, it may be a bit early for them and you'd give up some quality for it.

Thanks for the advice, I will continue the veg for about another 3 weeks so it can complete a full month.

When my move out date gets closer I will hopefully be able to stagger the dates by a few days, meaning get my new house a few days before my lease is up. This should give me plenty of time to move my setup, and get the landlord out of my hair.

I'd veg and top as much as possible to keep them small for now, then transport them (Your method sounds fine). When you transport them, have the other person with you set their new home up asap. And yeah, they should be fine in transporing.
