You dont want to wait too long before moving as the roots will grow very deep if given the chance. Also, make sure the spot your moving them to has no one around, and i mean no one. Theres a saying that goes "If you wouldnt pin a $100.00 bill to the tree next to your spot, then you havnt found the right one"

yeah u got it plants dont really start looking like a grown plant till later on get the first 2-3 nods and ur good...but still keep out of viewable places just to be safe.

I moved from peat moss cups to their new home at about 5 days, mine were about an inch above the soil at the time. The root system hasn't spread at that point so if you dig a hole about 4" by 4" around the plant, and 4 or 5 inches deep you should be fine if you transplant it to a new home immediately.
