why is?
why is plant stretching bad?? i have started a few plants and they are stretching alot but they will go outside eventually where security is almost the last of my issues at the grow site i almost figured a nice tall plant is good i plan on growing a few 5-7 footers my seedlings are about 7 inches tall and are only going into their 3rd set of leaves anything i should be worried about or no??? I guess the main question is. . . . . is stretching that bad??? should i be worried about it or no??? my plants are really tall compared to alot of the 2 week plantts that ive seen on here

Usually stretching means your lights are too far away and/or you need more light!

Having your lights to far makes there more of a stretch between nodes, causing more spindly plants, and yielding less bud. A lot of people forget that light strength diminishes exponentially, the farther from the source. You can figure out how many Lumens the plants are getting by I=L/Dsquared. Intensity= light output divided by distance squared. So 2 feet away is 1/4 the lumens, 3 feet 1/9 the lumens, and 4 feet 1/16 the lumens.
