Where do you find paint buckets?

I'd like to use bigger pots, and I have some 5 gallon paint buckets laying around.I'm wondering.. where do people get paint buckets? some people's grow logs show they have quite a number of them. I doubt they saved these over the years? and cleaning them would be a bitch..

my local shops carry 5 gallon pots but they're going at $5 each and I need a lot. I can order them online, but wondering if there's any places I can go that will likely have clean usable 5 gallon paint buckets

thanks

Thats the ultimate find.
Its a catch 22 in my experience,

Either they are free and need cleaning, or they are clean/new and cost money.
If you look hard you can find them for 3 dollars each, but that means they are usually on sale.

Just get 5 or 6 gallon grow bags. They are only $.69 a piece. They are better than rigid pots imo.

5 gallon plant pots are less then a buck at most Hydro stores or Professional nurseries. I have a few 7 gallon plant pots from Orchard Supply Hardware for 6 bucks each but they are well worth it.

go to a restaurant and ask for some pickle buckets.. they might smell like vinegar a little but they usually have tons of them and just throw them out.

Using buckets that have contained paint or other chemicals is not a great idea.

To LeafChick, trust me spending a few bucks now will save time a money get the proper pots the first time and they will pay for themselves very quickly, cutting corners only brings headaches and heartbreak.
