Does the 70W Regent(Not sure if this is correct) HPS Security Light come with a ballast built in?

nope spend 75 more and goto htgsupply and get a 400

Actually yes it does but you will have to hard wire the plug yourself. My first HPS was a 70 watt I used a old microwave plug and it worked fine.

^^^^^--------------What Hashmouf said. I have a 70W HPS security light that I'm using along with CFLs in my growbox. As far as HPS goes, the smaller lamps are not nearly as efficient as the higher wattages...something I learned after buying mine. My 23W CFL puts out 69.65 lumen/watt and the 70W HPS security light puts out 70 lumen/watt.

Compare that to a 400W HPS that puts out 137.5 lumen/Watt.

I've always wondered about the security HPS lights you see in stores alot. Im no electrician so I've never really looked into it. I grow with all CFLs at the moment. If anyone has more info on how exactly to 'hardwire' it/make it work properly it would be much appreciated, im sure kizm0 wouldnt mind either.
