outdoor light question

im a beginner to outdoor growing and i just realized that the most sunlight we get in south carolina is 14hours a day (correct me if im wrong) and thats in july...most of the time its 12 to 13 hours of light...so my question is how do plants grow outdoors without flowering in april, may, june when there is only 12 to 13 hours of light?

The plants respond to the Change in the dark period rather than the length of the days/nights. As the days lengthen, the plant vegetates, then after the summer solstice it begins to flower...although mine began flowering in early June and didn't finish until mid October. I got better results from a plant that I raised inside and put outside to flower in October. It flowered Oct - Dec and made big fat frosty buds like you see in pictures. Those that made during the heat and humidity that is S. Florida did ok but not near as dense.

+rep for the specific reply....so i have plants indoors right ow and i have to move them outside...they've been on 24/7 light for about 2 months...if i put them outside will they flower b/c of the huge change in light they get? and if the do flower as it gets closer to summer and there is more sunlight will it take the plants out of flower?

I'm pretty sure they will begin flowering. I have a plant that grew from seed in November that I put outside in January and it is flowering now. I dont think it will completely revegetate, but I am noticing a lot of new leaves as well as flowers. The buds are probably going to be loose , but should get you high. Kind of in the same boat as you, my indoor growing space is very limited.
