heating probelm

So my friends and I are planning on growing so Northern Lights #5 in my house. Unfortunately i still live with my parents and need everything to be low key. The only place we can grow is in my attic. However since it is the winter where I live, the attic is very cold. I thought about getting some heat lamps around the attic so make it warm, but I am afraid of a fire starting. My attic is basically wood and that pink fluffy stuff used for heat insulation. Do you have any suggestions?

Unfortunately the usual response for your question is -
It is not smart to grow in your parents house. You are putting there names at risk.

However I will tell you, what i tell everyone in your position. You are a human being and need to make your own decisions, and everyones situation is different.

Should you decide to proceed, my advice is read up. Btw, that pink fluffy stuff is called insulation.

You will need to look into any subject/thread having to do with a stealth grow.
Good luck, and hopefully you are smart enough not to cause any problems with authorities. Read up, re read, then come back and ask a more specific question.

i feel ya about my parents name but i'm not worried about the authorities. i was asking about the heating situation and a fire. im pretty sure the insulation is very flamable it wouldn't be wise to put a bunch of heat lamps. i was wondering if you had a suggestion about that.

Well considering your situation and worry, maybe a grow box to conceal and prevent fire?
Check out the grow room and design section, should give you some good ideas.

You should be.

For you and your friends? Sounds like you expect to grow quite a lot, and with zero experience and tackling a major temp control issue and all trying to keep it stealth from your parents living in the house? There is no way you will avoid getting caught by your folks, busted, or burning the house down.

we're growing one plant in a rubber made grow box. thats y im not worried about the authorities. im more worried about burning down the house or it reaking that my rents would notice.

Growing in your parents house isn't the smartest thing to do but I can't complain because I did the same thing.

But to answer your questions, insulation is VERY flamable. Your best bet is to build some type of small grow box. Depending on what the temp is where you're growing you will probably need some type of ventilation.

As far as your parents smelling it. When that shit is in the first few weeks of flowering, it is gonna smell VERY STRONG. If you are in a place where you can grow outside right now you should move them outside. The reason i say this is because as I stated above, the plants are going to smell VERY bad. When I was growing at my last house I had the plants in a closet in the back room and it made the whole house smell. Also if there are any vents where you're growing that lead to the outside... That stinch is going to travel.

If I was you I would move them somewhere else, plain and simple.
