ok ,some DWC nutes questions..

hey all,

i build up a DWC , 3lt container with one pump and air stone.

starting from seed , what is the recommended water level for the bucket? and nuteswise , how much should go in and how often?
this is my first grow , starting with 1PPPfamle , 1NL x BB , 1BB , 1JH all from nirvana seeds. thinking of growing 3 in soil and one in the DCW. for nutes i got biobloom biogrow and root juice ,all bio bizz. got 250HPS for flowering , and 24w T5 for vegging.

really looking forward to start this grow..

as the noob i am , i'm not really familiar with hydro so another question is what do i do with the sprouted seed? just pop it into the hydro clay in the net?

hi mate i've just started the DWC myself and i use small 1" rockwool cubes i bought on ebayjust pop the seed in the hole point end down keep the cube moist not soaking or standing in water just damp you can put it in a propagator to keep the humidity up if you can't check it every couple of hours i'd use a propagator then once your seeds sprouted just pop it in your net pot with your clay pebblesmake sure you put a small amount of pebbles under the rock wool.while waiting for the roots to come through you should keep the water level just at the bottom of the net pot until the roots come through then drop the water level just enough so the bubbles will burst onto the roots encouraging them to come down ino the water a bit then just keep to that level so the plant can take up the oxygen. as for the nutrients look what the bottle says then take a couple of ml off so it's not full strength because there can get large amounts of salts in your nuits as the plant drinks the water faster than it drinks the nutrients so make sure you check the cf or ppm levels of your nuits. hope this makes sense good luck

This has nothing to do with your question:

If your going to grow in that thing, get some aluminum tape and light proof that whole bucket (lid and bottom as well).

Never one to buck the trend...

It's going to be a challenge keeping pH & EC in check in less than 3 litres of solution.

Thrice daily adjustments by mid flower I'd have thought, at least.

Good luck. Let us know how it goes.

Sorry Danny,

I guess I came off a bit negative there, when I meant to offer encouraging advice, based on my continued experience of running a miniture hydro system.

I applaud your quest for first hand knowledge, for 'tis surely the only way to truly know.

I don't think the roots care about light. I know that algae loves light and loves that nutrient mix even more.
