can underfeeding cause plants to stretch?

stretching is a light issue (or in some cases genetics)
under feeding shows on the leafs first.. yellowing and such.. |

only lack of light can cause it?
what about excessive heat, can that do it?

stretching is caused by too little light or the light is too far away. if you're using flouros, move em practically next to the plant
