Found the perect outdoor grow spot, at last, but...

If I'm correct from my reading (this would be my first time grow), it's too late in the season to start a grow. Is that correct?

I wasn't able to find an exact answer to this anywhere. I'm sorry if it's pretty obvious and I just missed it. Thanks for the help.

Where are you located? Some places (south) you can grow all year long.
Up where I am (Norhteast) you really should plant in (or around) May. Some people will say ealier, but if you are still getting frost, you have to wait. The other option to plant all year round no matter where you are, of course is inside.

Since your in California and it's warm all year round'

You should be able to grow as long as it doesn't get too cold at night.
I don't see why it wouldn't work. Anyone?

You are rapidly running out of daylight hours.
At Latitude: 37 there are 13.5 hrs daylight right now. In one month (Sept. 18) there will be 12 hrs. and 19 min. and on Oct. 18 there will only be around 11 hrs. of daylight. I don't think that the plants will do very well under those conditions.
