What can I expect in the way of odor during all the phases of growth? I live in an apartment, will my neighbors be able to smell it? Or will it be fairly mild and good air-fresheners will cover the scent?

bustajib, depends on the strain. Sometimes, when you order the seeds--it'll tell you in the description how strong of an odor to expect. Either way, I'd make a home-made carbon scrubber just in case.
My question is regarding the reliability of a full spectrum HPS bulbs. Will I get great results during veg and flower as if I'm using a MH and HPS?
I'd like to use one bulb the entire process--rather than changing from MH to HPS when ready to flower.

yes, but it would be more economical to just get some black & white poly sheets, they are black on 1 side & white on other. its used for water barrier & for reflective material. http://www.htgsupply.com/products.as...categoryID=166

how would i lightproof a cabinet

i can post pics of my setup.... as for any experience = non existant..... other then that slight downer.... theoreticly i know how to do everything... i have done my research and i could write a guide on how to grow... but i still cant do it... getting hung up on stupid details...

1st when u germ them, its ok for the tap root to grow that way, just plant them about 1/8-1/4" deep, & cover w/ soil & keep moist (not wet), & no light until they sprout. your watering amount will change as the plant grows. as a seedling i usually water them once a day until water starts to drain out bottom (no nutes). to judge when to water, water when the top 2" of soil is dry, by poking your finger in soil to check, (its ok to let the soil dry out a little), or water it till water drains out, then pick it up to feel how it weighs (heavy), & then just pick them up everyday, when they are light in weight, then they need water. u can add 3% hydrogen peroxcide @ a rate of 5-10ml per gallon of water, this helps w/ overwatering & adds extra o2 to roots. the rule of thumb for pot size is 1gal for every ft in plant heigth, eg: 3ft plant = 3gal pot. as for watering just do as above. u can get ph meters at pet stores, pool supply, online (get a digital), & thermomiter/hydrometer u can get at pet stores too, or most hardware stores, & walmart. & u can use black/white poly plastic sheets to light proof the room

most plants wont start to smell untill they flower, & depending on # of plants & strain, the smell might be mild or strong. w/ 1-3 plants, i just use some ONA, & those auto-matic air-fresheners

if there is any difference, it wont be that bad, alot of growers grow w/ just an hps & get great results.

i read in the sog guide above, for flowering 1 plant per s.ft. is a rule of thumb. I have a hydro machine but it only has "2 net cups and only about "4 inbetween each cup site. which there are 8 in total of btw.
How many plants can i pull off in a sog in this setup?

Also in the same tutorial he posted up these pics of sog, do the plants in these pics have a full s.ft. inbetween them?

those pics do look like they are a sq ft apart, the plants themselves arnt a sq ft apart, but it looks like the pots are 12" x 12" = 1sq ft. watch this vid http://www.veoh.com/videos/v1134175StXaTzj7, it really depends on if u want a few big plants or a bunch of small ones.

could only see a trail version of the vid, i saw the machine he used though.
so the smaller your grow sites are the smaller your plant must be?
so the specs for my machine are about 25" x 20" x 15" Height. There are 8 grow sites specified for the 2" net cups. I dont mind tweaking the amount of grow sites i use. But i wana know how many you reccomend i do(SOG) so that the plants have enough space to grow in comfort?
and how many i can do max(SOG).

Just bairly root all 8 in 1 or 2" rockwool and fill er up

Well,if i was going to compromise i wouldnt even use any black and would use a 40 mil.polypropoline,which still isnt even close to the puncture resistance as the liners are.Makin a damn across the door area with a 2x10 to make a full proof indoor dry pond for piece of mind.

cool, thx oci. was gonna go with LECA pebbles over rockwool, do you think rock is better?

In a manual i was reading it was saying i can expand the number of grow sites manually. But i think it was referring to other crop such as tomatoes and lettus. Would you say 8 is the recomended or the max i should consider?

Also when im cloning, do i have to take all my cutting from one mother and keep her alive? Or can i take cuttings from the clones that grow from the mother? Any pros or cons to ethier of these ways?
