It very well can and will, depending on the size and hight of the grow room can dictate what size light is really apropriate to a point,you wouldnt use a 150 hps with a 10' celing and you wouldnt use a 1000 hps in a 3' room but the 1000w. would be perfect for the 10' and the 150w. is ideal for the 3'.Remember there are many other factors that ultimatly determin whats BEST,each plant strains maximum potantcy is genetically determined and its the grower who will either grow it for all its worth or leave somthing to be desired,using a smaller sized light wont always affect its potantcy but you can bet it will affect the yeald.

I know your not really into hydro but can you explain the how to step by step through a full grow inc. just how and when to adjust PH,what water is best,when to make nute adjustments VS a res. change,when and if to flush and how its done and about the nute PPM and how to adjust it and if additives affect the PPM,using the add back h2o system (another res. hooked via a float to the syst. adding water throughout the week)? Ive watched all the vids but still a bit confused on the whole procedure.

i would go w/ a mostly indica plant (can be a hybrid), & with growing methods like lst (low stress training), topping & fimming, u could grow any strain you want.

the amount of light wont effect potency much if at all, potency is genitic, but useing lower watt lights will give u smaller yeilds.

try this link here you got me on this one, i try to stay simple, so the closest thing to a hydro grow for me would be a hempy bucket, & later will be useing a bubble bucket, so this is something i need to figure out myself, this is what a buddy said monitor pH and PPMs daily. (Actually three times a day 'cuz I'm at home.) Use ph down to lower the pH and raise the pH using potassium silicate. PPMs vary by strain, age of the plant & garden.

Flushing is just running plain water through the hydro system. I do it if I've really screwed up & it shows. Otherwise I only flush during the last 2 weeks of the grow.

When to change the res is a matter of personal preference. I change it every 7 to 10 days. Some people change the res only when they have topped it with water equal to the capacity of the res. Some people change the res every 3 or 4 days.

I personally use RO water. You need to find out how hard your tap water is and decide from there.

I began hydro last year by just jumping in and getting both feet wet. Experiment a lot to find what works for you - every garden is different. oh & try this for your 240 to 110v conversion: Step 1. Open the case and look for the schematic drawing (if there is one) If there isn't one, then it's one of two things .... it's not a multi-tap ballast, or somebody already messed with it and it's gone.

Step 2. If the schematic is there, and YOU understand it .... make the required internal connection changes.

Step 3. Replace the 240v power plug with a 120v grounded power plug.

hey im startin to grow this year first time^^ and im hopin to get about 5 females and i gon start em in cups but when do i take em out and transplant to my sunny area like when it gets to big or so its not the big in the cup so it doesnt jsut die there

Lets say i purchase seeds online out of the 10 how many should I more or less count on germinating?

i would wait till wk 2-4 depending on how fast it grows, so it has a good rootball.

depending on the breeder & quality of seeds, some grow guides & videos say to expect a 50% germ rate & out of those expect 50% to be female, but i have had about a 90%+ germ rate, but u got to start w/ good seeds, & germ them right.

ok i know if i searched and read for a while i would find ait and i found it a while back but i forgot, so heres my q i wat is so bad about keeping the male near any female plants

2. my frien is growing a plznt and he says its male wat shound we do with it let it keep growng or wat?
3.im growing mine outside and its in about a 1 ft long 6 inch wide and 6 inch height sterilite container, is tgis good enuf to start growing the plant in.
4. how bad is it if i miss a day without watering it.
5. wat do i have to worry abpout mostly about growing outside, besides sumone finding it? Its hidden really well and its a 30 sec walk from my house and noone can see it unless i took sumone back there no one will ever find.i usaully go back there alot to smoke so i dont need to worry about it being stolen.

i guess thats all the Qs i have for now.

keeping males around females, will result in the male pollenating the female resulting in weed w/ seeds, & it will loose its potency b/c the plant is now putting its energy into the seeds not thc.

depending on the strain, some will show their preflowers at about wk 3-4, but most the time they wont show sex until you put them on a 12/12 light cycle, which you could do to a clone to determine the sex of donor. males arnt worth much, either kill it or make some hash from it. that will be fine for a few wks, the rule of thumb is 1 gal pot per 1ft of plant, eg: 3ft plant = 3gal pot. u dont need to water everyday, water when the top 2" of soil is dry, or when the pot is light in weight (dry dirt = light pot, heavy pot = wet dirt). pest & insects, just piss around the area of the plant (not real close or on it), this will keep rabbits & such away. as for insects just check it daily or buy or make a insectiside.
