You can switch to 18/6 if you want fairly soon after the seeds have sprouted, but most people hold off if they can until the vegetative stage proper starts, which is generally accepted to be after the third set of true leaves open. You don't need to switch to 18/6 if you don't want to though, 24/0 is fine up until flowering.

For flowering, you'll want to switch to 12/12.

You don't need a thread for lighting. There are at least a dozen threads on this site, as well as grow guides and books available both here at gc and elsewhere that will tell you the same thing about lighting schedules that I just did.

i have two daylight philips medium base lights on one plant
is this enough?
"lumens:1620
watts:100"

5000 lumens would be about 4 of these lightbulbs, is that too many on one plant?

you want it up high, b/c co2 is heavier than o2, & placing it, id try to center it over the plants, or on either side w/ a fan blowing the co2 accross the plants. & place them near the plants, since u need to watch the co2 ppm around them.

yea just set the timer when the light come on after 15min, this allows the plants to wake up & open their stomas to take in the co2. to me id just put the port ac in room & not vent it outside, just like a reg ac it recirculates the air inside the house, just put it in the lowest & coolest place in room & put a fan in front to push the cool air further, & vent it up high & away from unit..

the only time u need to change light cycles is when u flower on a 12/12 light cycle. you can grow during vegging useing your choise of light cycles, eg: 24/0, 22/2, 20/4, 18/6, what ever you wanna use, but the most popular are 24/0, & 18/6, so pick 1 & stay w/ it until flower.

the more ligt the better, if it still young (days) that will get you by, but after wk 2-3 youll need more 5000 lumens or more, & dont use reg light bulbs, either flouros, cfl, or hid. & ill be running about 53,000 lumens on 1 plant.

Also would this light be ok for all stages-as long as its cheap..-max price to bid?

depending on what your looking for, i could find a few things, as for the light, its good for vegging (6500k), but flowering plants need 2700k.

The lumatek 1000w. ballast is 240 volts which has a 240 v. 3 prong line cord w/the top 2 prongs horizontal or flat and the lower standard US round type prong,it needs to be put on a timer which i got but the prongs are a little different with one of the flat prongs turned 90 degrees. So how do i plug the ballast into the timer, with an adapter from female w/ 2 top flat (from the lumatek)to a male w/the 1 turned prong to plug into the timer? I didnt find that adaptor on your site.

You know how different strains take longer than others? What determines that? Would that be how long it takes for the trichromes to mature? or are there other factors besides the trics'?

My 10x10 sealed grow room plan is to vent the one or two 1000w lights from outside the room to outside the room using the 757cfm vortex can fan so as to keep the light cool and put it ~12" from the plants but since it will be 50F in eve. and 60-70F in the day for the next 6 months can i just run a filter on one end of the lights and through the lights into the vortex (on a speed control btw) and back into the room to keep it real warm so my co2 burner will work better maybe 85-90F during this winter lights on time? Will i need a heater during the girls sleeping hrs.? I heard the night time temps should be kept no more than 15F. lower than the day temps. So is 85-90F best for day(with the co2 burner on 1500PPM)and no lower than 70F. night temps? OH,and can the port AC unit wait till summer,I will be using a dehumidifier, but which brand is good?

I would guess that dif. strains which grow all over the world have such a vast dif. in climate conditions and elevations. Many years of evolution with the changing weather proly add to it constantly. But this is just my guess STONED.
