While Training a plant using LST, when you tie them down, you know how a few shots are facing towards the dirt, is it true that you should cut those shots off although they will grow upward towards the light????

Hello again, my little plants have been having that way too common bottom leaves yellowing thing going on so I went to buy a pH test to see if that was the problem. I got two tests actually, one is a soil pH test where you put a small amount of your soil in with some water and a little tablet and the resulting color of the water indicates your pH. The second one I got is a three in one moisture, light, and pH meter. You stick it down into your soil and switch it over to pH, wait a minute, and it gives you a reading.

On the first test I gauged an 8-9 pH from the color in the tube. Ouch.
The second test said it was between 7-8 pH. A little better, but still ouch.

So I want to bring the pH down to around a 6. I wanted to do this with aluminum sulfate, but I'm unsure how much to use and how to apply it. I also did a search on the forums to see if I could find a guide with this info, and I know it is probably here, but I had no luck finding it.

So help me out? How much aluminum sulfate should I add per plant (in 1 gallon pots)? And how do I apply it (plants are in soil)? Thanks very much everyone.

1st, those 3 in 1 meters suck, i went through 2 of them, they arnt very accurate & dont last long. to get your ph down, u need to play w/ the water ph. the correct ph is between 6.5-6.8, so if your ph is between 7-9, id mix up some water & get this waters ph to 6.0, & water them w/ it & retest. u really need to get a digital ph meter. iv never heard of aluminum sulfate as a ph down, but add a little bit @ a time until u reach the correct ph. http://forum.grasscity.com/general-i...ighlight=light

@ day 28 out of 63 on 12/12 & fat buds all around, going to run co2 tomarrow all day, + i added my 26w 10.0 uvb bulb in there today to help trich development

the best is mylar, or if u can find titanium white paint. those u mentioned will work too. read my post here http://forum.grasscity.com/general-i...ur-lights.html & http://forum.grasscity.com/general-i...ighlight=light & the 1gr/per watt means that u can yeild (bud weigth) 1 gram of bud per 1 watt of light, eg: 400w light = 400grams of bud, but dont expect to get what they say youl get

As an example i feel great getting .76 per watt from 3 plants in veg. for 3 months on my 1st grow.

SOGs can get more and most will get less,its all in that limiting factor(the barrel)which was explained in JJs long but great post a few posts back.

if u can afford fox farm ocean forest soil get it if not get miralce gro organic

well, the pics are pretty hopeless. even in photoshop. after staring at the photos, and comparing them to my plant, i think i might have a hermi. i had a male a few times before, and i knew that the little flowers. (gee that gave it away you think?)but i couldnt tell with this one off hand, cause well, i had never grown one this big before. up at the tops of the branches, are bunches of little pods. i figured that maybe this was what happened when it started to grow bud. then in some places, i have pistols, and they look like they have little hairs starting to come out of them.
the bud off a male plant is less potent and doesnt get as much bud does it?

male plants dont have buds, & r pretty much worthless. if it is a hermi u can still let it grow, b/c it will have bud (w/ seeds), & the seeds will be all female, & im sure u heard of fem seeds. let it finish like a normal plant if hermi, if male chop it or u can try to make hash from it.

First you germ the seeds, then plant them, then water them, then give them light, then feed them, then switch to 12/12, then harvest, then enjoy. That's it in a nutshell.
