Before I took the seeds out and put them at the top of the soil I decided to try it once more with the lights on to lower the temperature and I bought another fan, the temperature seemed to stay down for a while and it took alot longer for it to reach its peak. But when I left and came back the temp was about 91 degrees F. So that's not going to be good enough.

I bought an air conditioner. One of the ones which has a tubbing attachment that goes into a plastic fitting which goes in the window. I tested it for a bit tonight, and i am not convinced that, along with one fan is going to be enough to really lower the temperatures. But I suppose I will find out tomorrow. I only used 4 seeds, so hopefully I can still get these going. When I checked the inside of one last the seeds did look like they were still OK.

Well, maybe it doesn't make sense. But I posted a few pages back in this thread so that could be why it doesn't make sense. Basically my temperatures are too high. I successfully germinated my seeds but haven't been able to get them out of the pucks yet.

I have a few questions about jarring my buds....

3 days after harvest (on 6/22) some of the smaller buds seemed to be drying out quickly...not snapping stems but the buds seemed pretty dry, so I dec9ided to put 'em in jars. 2 days later I decided to put more of the the larger buds in jars because they seemed the same. After 1 more day I put the largest buds in jars.

Of the 3 different sets of jars by date, the 1st jars buds pulled some moisture to the outside of the buds as expected. I have been opening those jars every day for about 15-20 minutes & they seem to be doing fine. The 2nd jars I have been checking daily but there has been no moisture coming out....they seem to be basically just as dry as when I put them in the jar so I haven't been leaving those jars open to breathe. The 3rd set of jars are the same....no more moisture coming out...pretty dry.

What do you recommend I do w/the dry jars? I was thinking about putting a small bit of carrot in each jar to add a tiny bit of moisture back in but I don't know if that would help, hurt or what.

hey jcj77d, not trying to intrude on your thread here. I have been reading some of the pages (doubt I'll ever get through all 100+ though) and you clearly know what you are talking about. I just saw this post from JoeRocket and thought "hey, I've had the same problem!"

JoeRocket, I have been there before. You drying chamber may be a little too warm, if its possible to cool it down at all, that would be the ideal solution. If you can't cool it down at all, pull your buds out sooner. You actually don't want to be able to snap the stem after the drying stage, the stem should still be somewhat plyable. What you do want is to have the "popping" stem after a nice long cure.

So you have dried out your bud too much before curing, thats okay we've all done it before, even the most experienced growers will still make that mistake from time to time. There are a few methods to fix this...

One... get some freshly clipped leaves and put them in the bud. It doesn't have to be MJ leaves either it can be any foliage from any plant in your home. I wouldn't recommend carrots cause they will degrade and promote bacterial growth.

two... mist those buds! Think I am crazy now don't ya!! no seriously mist those buds and put them back in the jars BUT you gotta make sure you keep opening the jars like you're doing to let the moisture out or you'll get the dreaded bud mold. Misting will give you the best results but you have to careful, keep a close eye on it.

Peace

the method of choise is potato slices or lettuce, b/c they contain lots of moisture, ive used lettuce b4 & apple & orange slices. just make a barrier between the veggies & bud w/ plastic wrap, u dont want it touching. keep a close eye on them for mold or rot. i usually replace the "veggies" every 2-3 days. but sometimes they will rehydrate w/ in a few hrs to a day, & orange & lemon peels work too, or if u have any live mj plants, pull some green leaves off them & use it. u can google rehydrating buds
