I will be taking measurements throughout the rest of the grow to see if this has helped, hurt or had no effect on growth.

Whatcha think?
that should work just fine, b/c a long long grow ago, i had a monster that was getting root bound, & i couldnt find a bigger pot (5gal), so i filled another 5gal half way or so w/ soil, & cut the bottom off the old one & set it inside/on top of the new one w/ no stunting or any thing b/c i didnt disturb the roots. just like this pic.

I have couple of questions again.
1. Because of the different guides I read, I am not quite sure what should be the right temperature when you sow the seeds and the days after it? I have everything else planed by the book, but I am not quite sure whats the temperature I need (I can go early/delay a few days, to be more optimal).
and
2. Should I put the seeds in water(for few hours) before I sow them or I shouldn't, cuz I read that this helps.
3. I heard that outdoor plants go a lot bigger than indoor plants. Is this true, and whats the ratio between outdoor:indoor plants?
4. And isnt there something worth smoking from the male plants, too or they are really only for throwing?

these are my babies @ 5 days old, just TX them in the party cups today, in miracle grow organic w/ perlite & vermiculite. except for the 1 in the RW, its about 2wks old (weird). starting from the left. they are all feminized. the church, big bang, skunk special, (2wk old master kush on cup), & the rest are master kush. + i have 3 master kush outside in ground (2 months old). 2 of the mk plants have a little bit of light bleach from being under my 150w hps, i guess it was to soon.

for germing the seeds, the temp should be about 75-77, & after that it should be around 75-78 +/- a few. some ppl soak their seeds for 12hrs, good seeds should sink after a few hrs. yes outdoor plants are usually bigger, b/c the sun is way more powerful than any light we can buy. there is no ratio for out & in plants, thats a personal pref. males are really only good for breeding & making hash, u cant smoke um

Growing

Does a plant outside HAVE to have 5 gallons of dirt or what is the minimal amount of dirt you can use.
If you were to have a gallon milk jug filled with water and had a small hole poked into it so it is constantly dripping near your plant- would that hurt the plant, would it promot root rot?
Thanks

I just transplanted my NL x C99 seedlings at day 5 from sprout in their jiffy pellets into a 50/50 mix of Fox Forest Ocean Forest and chunky pearlite in 16 oz. cups.

Day 4:

P3170011.jpg

Day 5: Transplanted & moved under 400w MH at 3 1/2 feet.

P3180015.jpg

Day 6:

P3190017.jpg

To me they seem to be doing OK, what do you think?

I'm giving them plain PH corrected tapwater, but I've heard that with the FF OF soil I don't need to feed them for a while. Is this correct & how will I know when they're asking for it? A pic would be AWESOME if possible because I'm a dumbass!!

If you think the light is OK at this point (it's on 24/7), how soon should I start moving it closer? It's an air cooled hood & temp control is no issue. I was thinking about waiting another day or two then start moving it about 6"/day closer, checking for signs of stress of course....am I even close?

Thankin' ya in advance!!!

Why a 50/50 mix? 20-25% is best,watch um close for needing h2o.

Those plants are stretching alot, you can use CFLs at 2" for 2 weeks with no stretch, what bulb do you have and whats the distance?

Got my SS sink with a side board (restaurant style) and 100 GPD 6 stage R/O installed with hot and cold and a drain all installed and into a temp. 5 gal bucket with a float valve.

All this time i have been using 400PPM tap with the soft water GH micro instead of the hard water one with great results.

So,now i don't have to fill a 5 gal bucket in the kitchen haul it to my room and bubble it for two days and fill all the run off into 2 liter bottles and after i have nine haul um to the toilet and dump each one out.

Now I'm having fun,all i need now is a nute cooler and a port two hose AC unit.

Then i can go full on BB hydro and just WATCH um grow!!! By then i mite know how to post pix.

I read that a 50/50 mix was good, but I can see that a 75/25 mix might hold more moisture yet still drain well.

They were under 2 T12 cool white "shop light" bulbs until transplant becuase that's all I really have other than my switchable 400w.

I'm looking at T5's for the future, but my budget is shot for that stuff right now.

How about the nutes? How will I know when they need them?

are u planting in the ground, or in pots outside? the rule of thumb is 1gal pot per ft of plant, eg: 3ft tall plant = 3gal pot. as long as the soil around the plant isnt always wet, & has a chance to dry out, it will be fine.

they look good, u can prob start lowering it slowly. they will need food when the leaves start to lighten up, keep um nice & green, u can usually start to feed @ around wk 3, w/ 1/4 strength nutes.

I know these aren't the best pics JC, but from what you can tell, do these look ready for choppin'? Trichs range- mostly milky some clear, others amber. Was flushed over the last two weeks. Dirt is dry right now. If not readu for chop, should they get water? I thought it was ideal for dirt to be completely dried out when ready for harvest.
