Hey jcj77d,

I stopped by the local hydro store today and picked up some pH down and some Sweet Leaf from Advanced Nutrients.

My question is about the pH down. I am 100% organic with everything else, and I noticed that it didn't say 100% organic on the bottle. So my question is , is it organic? If not will this affect my plants in a negative way? The main ingredient is phosphoric acid. I was just worried about it not being organic and affecting the crop in some way.

Thanks.

Phosphoric acid, also known as orthophosphoric acid or phosphoric(V) acid, is a mineral (inorganic) acid having the chemical formula H3PO4. By contrast, orthophosphoric acid molecules can combine with themselves to form a variety of compounds referred to as phosphoric acids in a more general way. The term phosphoric acid can also refer to a chemical or reagent consisting of phosphoric acids, usually mostly orthophosphoric acid. i wouldnt really worry about the ph down being organic, b/c u use so little + its not a nutrient.

Thanks for helping me out dude!

Also it doesn't have an exact dosage on the pH down. It just says add a little to the water, no specific amount. So what would you consider a little?***EDIT**** I found it on their website finally:Application Rate: 1 mL / L Based on standalone light feeding

and

Does feeding your plants typically cause the pH to rise? OIr does it depend on what you are feeding them?

thanks again!

adding nutes to the water makes the ph drop.

Then it must be the water. I am going to have to check out the actual pH of the water.

Is it ok to mix distilled water, rain water(I read it was good for nitrogen. True?), and a small amount of hydrogen peroxide for watering? What about urine? I read a small, diluted amount would be ok.

yes u can mix dif water types, just make sure u correct the ph, & i dont know if mixing them is better for N, never heard that. yes u can use hydrogen peroxcide 3% @ a rate of 10-15ml per gal. yes u can use urine as a nute, human urine fresh, but i dont know the ratio, but prob like 1/2 cup per gal.

What would happen if I put a seedling outdoors right now in southern California? would it most likely die with only like 12 hours of light and lows of 40 and highs of 80?

Yeah more than likely, IMO. Seedlings and cuttings both need to stay warm in their delicate stage. It would be best to germinate indoors and then transplant outdoors in March.
