I'm not sure what the cause could be. My plant is approximately 3 weeks now. Finishing off its 2nd set of fan leaves, working on its 3rd. The person that told me it was my soil, said that it's because I didnt add any perlite to the soil.
Is this stuff necessary? I dont know where to find any in town.

What do you guy's think of this video series?

http://youtube.com/watch?v=poet6VfGMOY&feature=related

It seems very basic to me, which should serve as a good template for a beginner like me. I'm just curious if anybody has seen it before and if there are any serious flaws in it's contents.

the room will smell a little during veg (depending on strain & # of plants), but the smell will get stronger when it flowers. your best bet for soil is oganic potting soil, & u can use flouros, but the rule of thumb is 50-100w of light per plant, & u want cool white (6500-5000k) for veg, & warm white (3000-2700k) for flowering.

its too late to add perlite now, & i dought thats the prob. perlite just makes the soil drain better, when u transplant u can add perlite to the soil. perlite is sold everywhere, walmart, lowes, homedepot.

All my plants were with the same soil and i didnt add a thing.I have 5 plants(my babies) 3 dif strains(all seed, dif phenos)that are almost 2 weeks old and all plants got everything done the same. Some have 2 sets of true leaves and some have 4,some are 1" and some 2".Even the same strains are way dif..This variation is most likely d/t the stability of the pheno which i have and not any outside factor like soil. You are using VERY high quality soil so unless your environment is way off its prolly just a smaller strain or a pheno which is smaller at this stage. Some strains which are the smaller of the group have been known to be more potent too.

28 days old and ones 5" and the other is 6",with 5 node spots below the top.The nodes are like 3/4" apart is all this normal, good ,great or what? They look fantastic and the color is perfect but for 28 days old seem shorter than most ppls plants,is this cause mine werent stretched at all, lights are 1-2" from seed constantly.

Do you do runoff tests? I do them every watering and have been real fortunate that every runoff test was the same 5.8 that i watered with.As the plants mature and nutes increase im sure the tests will change and need attention. My 5" plant has needed the light moved up twice in the last 8 hrs to keep it at 1" from the plastic(which is 1/2" below the bulbs).I guess the roots are really goin off after the TX a few days ago.

JCJ77D, or OCITOWN, since you two are the most informative!!

The pheno I have that had the roots ripped in half seems to be doing okay. I know I put a lot of stress on the plant since it didn't grow one bit, BUT it didn't wilt up, so I guess that's okay. I know I stunted his growth 100% since my other pheno(turbo), which was smaller then pheno1(Supra) is about 1/3 bigger. I hope my nutes is working.

Anyways, here is my question, I have been feeding them my own tea which is the following:
-per gallon
-Thrive Alive B1
-Alg-A-Mic Kelp Seaweed
-Vierras liquid Earth Worm Castings
-Natures Nector NITROGEN
-and I am going to add "the Guano company" next feed

Anyways, can I FOILAR FEED with this tea??? Or should I make a separate bucket w/ airstone and only add Thrive Alive b1?? I dont know if I should, maybe be on the safe side and only foilar feed with ONE ingrediant. I am going to foilar feed it 5 minutes before the lights shut off (18/6) @ 1:00A.M.

What would you guys recommend??

Also I had a soil question which has been confusing the HELL out of me since I have been researching.

I just dont get it! People seems to mix just about everything in their soil!

for example: they will mix
-Potting soil (what is the REAL meaning to just potting soil?? nothing added??)
-soilless mix (what the??)
SOIL AMMENDMENTS
-perlite
-construction sand
-Vermiculite
ORGANIC SOIL AMMENDMENTS
-peat moss
-Coconut coir
-manure
-BLA BLA BLA BLA BLA!!!

I dont even know what to mix man!!! I dont understand when people say they add promix, to soiless mix, to organic mix, etc etc etc. do you guys know where I am coming from?? Its confusing the shit out of me, its actually getting me mad because I have bought about 5 books already and cant figure it out!

Is using Fox Farm Ocean JUST FINE??? Because that is what I am using.

For example, Soma's GREAT book for beginners, he does this.
His ORGANIC SOIL:
-Earth Worm Castings
-Black Peat
-ORGANIC potting soil
-Guano Kalong (organic soil mix)
-BioBizz Light-mix
-Organic fertilizer 7-6-12
-perlite
-maerl

You SEE WHAT I MEAN?? HE uses ORGANIC potting soil, to ORGANIC soil mix, or ORGANIC fertilizer, to BLACK Peat, to BIO BIZZ light mix.

Can you guys TRANSLATE that into lamens(sp?) term please!!!! I just dont get it!!

Like this, what are some examples of organic potting soil, what are some examples of Soil mix? what are some examples or fertilizer, to black peat, to big bizz bla bla bla bla, i am going crazy just typing this!!

I just want to understand everything. He uses the fertilizer to stabilize the NPK? Man, I give up, please help me guys..I know you guys think I am crazy...lol
