I was just curious if the Fox Farm Ocean forest had anything in it that would sustain nutrient uptake for a bit with my plants, thus delaying their initial feeding.

sounds like over watering, usually over watered plant keeps their color and their leaves begin to droop alot, droopage with no color loss usually associated with over watering.

depends on how much space you have for a mother plant, most people usually keep em short tho.i think the shorter the better, less space between internodes especially helpful for a mother plant.

well my t5 is a 2ft 4 bulb (8000 lumens @ 96w), & i got 6 bloom & 3 veg bulbs, so when i use 4 bulbs, 1 is a bloom, b/c i dont have 4. my other t5 pec light is a 2ft 2 bulb light & i got 2 bloom & 2 veg (9600 lumens @ 110w) 4800 lumen per bulb. then i got 3 18" t8 @ 875 lumens each, 2 150 hps @ 16000 lumens each & several cfl (about 5000+ lumen worth), & 1 26w 10.0 UVB @ 660 lumens. if u dont have the bulbs then dont worry bout it, if u do it wont hurt to add some in there just keep it @ 50/50 or less.

As it stand right now, I think I have all the info I need to continue.

I will be purchasing a 400W HPS bulb. After germination I will be using this, and only this for the rest of the grow. Maybe in the future I will choose to play around with different kinds of lighting at different stages, but for now I'm keeping it simple.

I will be purchsing seeds from either seedboutique (most likely), nirvana (maybe), or Dr. Chronic (longshot). I plan on doing a little more research on this subject but it seems like in the end, you just have to take a chance. I will say that nirvana.com is enticing because they accept paypal (the only one so far that I have seen that does), which means you can use a credit card forthe lectronic payment, but not necessarily give them any CC info.

I know what I am doing with the soil mix...
60% Potting Soil
15% Perlite
10% Building Sand
10% worm castings
5% Pre-Mix

Once I have all my equipment ready, I will clean the room, set it up and go. Even though this is technically an indoor grow, I will try to time it with the weather, and in that sense, treat it as an outdoor. So sometime in late March, if all goes well, I'll be setting the sprouts into the room.

The only thing that worries me is if I wil end up using too much amps from that socket. I am not familiar with electricity at all, and asking someone to come and check it out for me isn't an option. I'll do my best to figure out if the socket is capable or not, but it's not going to stop me from trying.

Yeah, I plan keeping a journal very soon that will include the process of acquiring seeds and equipment. I'll post the link in my sig if anybody is interested.
cool, just to make sure u know a 400w hps bulb (any hps bulb) wont screw into a reg socket, they need a ballast. & to figure your amp useage just do watts / volts = amps, a 400w will use about 4amps.

That what I ended up doing, flushing the planters with 3x the volume of the planter.

Transplant completed last night around 7pm. No signs of shock from any plants @ 16 hours since transplant.

Oh and I repped ya again jcj! You now have your 3rd bar. No need to thank me.

i foilar feed w/ sparkling water (co2 water from store), & add a little nutes, & my blastoff (which has info for foliar feeding mix ratio). u dont need to ph the foliar water & if the ST doesnt have foliar feed info on it, just scale down the mix ratio to fit the spray bottle. co2 water is good b/c it adds exra co2 to them.

that is alot better, & an hps would work if u can keep the temps regulated, & lst would be good if they where to get to tall, or look into scrog

The seeds themselves in soil will usually sustain themselves for the first two weeks w/o a prob.
