i have another question...

could i grow a plant in the middle of an open room and just leave a window or two open for ventilation (or would i need any ventilation?)

also the room isn't used at all so there is no heater in there and the normal temp is probably 50-65F, so would this work or would i have to bring in a little space heater?

one more thing what about lighting? since its a way bigger space than a closet would i need more floros?

yes, you can grow a plant in the middle of the room with little ventilation, depending on the size of the plant and if the room is big enough, it can be done with none.


50-65 degrees is too low so this will be an issue when the lights are off

in a room like that Id have to say a HID lamp is a must.

if u just grow 1 plant, then leave those windows closed, put the plant as far away from the windows b/c im sure its cooler near them. if you can afford an hid get one, for 1 plant a 150w-250w hid would do, & would raise your room temp as well, even better than flouros. if not use flouros, but more is better. try growing w/ what u can afford, & if the temps stay the same then add a heater.

Hey guys,

The temperature in my closet is starting to be a little more in the acceptable range.
Meanwhile I've arranged another closet and will be my seedling and clones closet. All it has is 2 30W CFLs, it has no ventilation yet.

It turns out my CFLs are 5000k in color temp also I have some 4000k bulbs lying around.
How should that work when growing the plants? will it cause stretching?

no it wont cause stretching as long as the lights are keep close, you can use those bulbs for vegging as well, id say use them both for your veging, & both for flowering, but still get some 2700k for flowering.. glad u got that temp down

But generally speaking, how noticeable is going to the difference between vegetating on an 4000k MH or a 6500k MH?
