First Grow,I Need Help

Hey guys these pics display my plants i need to knwo how to sex if it's to realy,I also need to learn hw to light them i have them in a 10 gallin fish tank...and i'm using the fishtank light...how often to i set them to light how many hours a day?,Oh Also my plants are 9 and 1/2 inches tall,9 3/4 inches tall and 8 1/2 inches tall.....So what do i do know accoding to my pics...you know and if i should clone now.

How much light (watts) and what kind of light do you have on your plants? If it's just a 20w or 40w fluorescent bulb, you won't be able to produce (much if any) usable bud. Also, if you grow in a clear container, like a glass fish tank, you should be able to block the light off of the sides when the plant has it's 'dark time'.

Ok How many hours should i give them for right now? The watts on the light is 15 Watts...do they make flouresent grow lights that woudl fit in the tanks light?

No bro, the fish tank isn't the way to go, IMHO. If you don't have a green thumb, buy any one of the Jorge Cervantes , Mel Frank, Ed Rosenthal books on overall MJ growing. Are you handy with some small, cheap hand tools? You could build a box easily enough, or if your situation allows, take over a closet. It's not worth growing half assed, as the risk is too much. I tried half assed as a kid and my buddy got busted at our place, and I didn't get charged w/anything. Now I am doing it the right way, and so far, it is surprisingly easy. Good luck, and read the sticky on CFL lights in the indoor section, and this thread on a little grow box.

you must not read much, there are several guides and threads that tell you NOT to do exactly what you're doing.

1.) Growing multiple plants in one container
2.) Using 15W to grow 3 plants

You'll need a whole LOT more light to grow your plants past this point, they really wont get much bigger than 13 or so inches if you dont.

If you leave your plants in the same tub without a divider, the roots'll get entangled and all your plants WILL die.

Your plants are still kinda small for determining sex, but if you wanna find out, set the lights on 13/11 (13 hours on, 11 hours off), they should start showing their sex within a week or 2, then you can turn the lights down to 12/12.

Your plants dont even have developed branches yet, you wont be able to clone, unless you use the top... which might just kill your plant.

The main stem on your plants also seem way, way too skinny for a 9-inch plant and they have terrible foliage; this usually means one obvious thing: you need better lights.

What you should do:

-Keep your lights on 24 hours/day every day (DONT turn your lights down to 13/11 or 12/12)
-Get at least 4 CFL's (The spiral fluorescent bulbs)
-Your soil seems shallow, you need your soil to be at LEAST 6-7 inches deep to get decent sized plants.
-Use cardboard to seperate the soil between your plants
-Or just transplant your plants into their individual pots
-Move your light so it is within 3-4 inches off the top of your plants (Your plants are probably that tall cuz they've stretched so much for light, they look like 1-week old seedlings, they should only be 4-5 inches tall if they're biggest fan leaves only have 3 blades...)
-Dont consider flowering till you have fan leaves with at least 7 or 9 blades
-Pray that your plants will still grow any bud after all the shit you put them through.

P.S.: The only reason I even care about helpin u is cuz I feel sorry for your plants, you dont deserve to grow. Do urself a favor: kill your plants, start over; your plants may be FUBAR anyway. Dont wait 6 weeks to start flooding the forums about how your plants arent growin bud or they just start dying. IT IS ALL YOUR FAULT. Read!

...If you stick with the fishtank, remember: the plants are supposed to grow 'out' of the tank, not 'inside' the tank. This obviously means you dont have enough soil and your plants are being tortured to survive.

Yeah i'm taking the grow box idea...i'm going to turn my dresser top into a Plant habitat.....So Yeah...Thanks guys.....But money is tight so to ge those lights how much would the fixture be? i think i'm going to keep the new seedlings i have that just sprouted and maybe try the big ones but i need to know how much the most inexpensive light fixture would be but also healthy for my plants.

I don't know how much space you have, but get about 5 clip on lamps (about 5 bucks each), and a pack of 4-5 26w compact fluorescent bulbs to veg the plants with, but you will need even more light to flower them in down the road. Walmart, or home depot/lowes are the best bets for the lights. You could probably get away with buying like 2 lights, and 2 cfl's a week if money is that tight. Get a good powerstrip (the more plugs the better) with a 15 amp breaker on it, and a heavy duty timer (bout 30 bucks for both @ Depot). Also a fan to lightly blow around the plants.
