Its a good additive, especially for clones and seedlings. Just dont go full strength on it. Ive used it outside on my lilies and other flowering plants and they've just exploded.

Def not hoodoo.

Some of what I have heard was that it would make tyhe leaves bigger but nothing else. So I assume that this is untrue. Mabey I should use it in a percentage of my plants and see the difference in the ones who didint get any.

On your comment about nutes I read somewhere today that it is safe to give nutes after 2nd week of growing.

Once the cotylendon (sp?) the lil leaves at the very bottom, sorta round, start to yellow or shrivel up, you should give them 1/4-1/2 strength nutes. Sometimes they'll go purple too, could be looking for nitrogen.

You can give superthrive, rhizotonic, and some other supplements prior to actually introducing a good dosage of NPK nutes.

There is no consensus on SuperThrive. Some swear by it, some say it's snake oil. It does not list the ingredients, which drives the suspicions of many.

I do use it, but I've never done side-by-side with-without testing.

ST is not a nute/fertilizer -- to the extent it contains anything beneficial at all, it is a vitamin and hormone supplement.

With it being a hormone or vitamine for the plant it cant hurt. It would be like you taking a multivitamin to maintain health and keep your immune system up. Its the same thing for the plant it helps keep it healthy.

I just don't know, and I guess that's the point, no one does. It sure as hell smells like vitamins, so it has something in it. I guess I just tend to believe that it is a beneficial tonic but only because of some hearsay and gut feel. True, it's never killed any of my plants.
