Light timing

Can someone give me a list of the amount of time I should be leaving the light on for a closet grow during:
1. Germination
2. Seedling
3. Vegitation

and I know that Flowering is 12/12. Btw I am going to be using a 250w hps with a couple of cfl's.

As soon as it spouts you have the choice between 18 hours or 24 hours up light, or a combination of both.

Sticky threads are a goldmine. Read up.

As soon as your seeds pop and areput into soil, most people leave the lights on for 24 hours for the first month or so, if switching to another light source like an MH bulb thats when people usualy start going to 18/6 or even 16/8 for the rest of the plants vegitation period
It is not good to leave the lights on for 24 hours all throughout the veg period however, plants make and store food when the lights are on and then actually use it when the lights are off, they will use some of the food when the lights are on but not to their full potential.

Hmm, OK. For other opinions read the thread in my signature about light timings - it's a good read.

24/7 (always on) is best. No question

The study was done with a few hundred plants in a controlled indoor lab at Advanced Nutrients in Canada.

It just did not seem right to me at first. Seems like god wants plants to sleep. Then I tried it. I had to reduce my veg cycle by four days. Even though it feels unnatural to us, the plants will cycle faster if the lights are left on. I reluctantly changed my mindset and switched to the lights on for veging. It is the best way.

Found in another thread as well.
