I have read to put them in the dark after putting sprouted seeds in soil. However, I always put under 18/6 light and plant them as close to the surface as I can and keep a fairly watchful eye on their progress. Do keep them covered with a baggie of some sort to keep moisture in til they break the soil.

yep^
Some info says that 'u should not use light as it may slow down the germination process' but if u think about it logically for one second.....
Roots grow in the dark so light isnt gonna be good for em........
Light cant go through the soil anyway!!!!! So its gonna be dark down below the surface. The advantage to having a Cfl/floro on above it is that the second it reaches the surface it will receive light and stop any chance of it stretching in the dark! It also keeps the temp up

i dont wanna put a light on it and have to water...watering is said to be bad during the pre-sprouting stage...the only water that should be added is before you plant and after you have a sprout.

if u cover the cup/pot with cling film/seran wrap, then no water that evaporates can escape.Thats why u cover the pot with it.It also raises humidity, which is good for germination!
floro's dont put out much heat anyway, hardly any!

My seeds actually germinated while submerged in about 8 ounces of H20 ( a cup of tap water) and a 1.5 capfulls of Hydrogen Peroxide 3%. They are doing extremely well.
I didnt intend to do this, I put a lot of seeds in there to soak overnight. The Hydrogen Peroxide was to kill mold. They germed in 24 hours!

Watering during this stage

This is great info. But the thing i mess up on a lot is watering when they are young. If u could give info on the watering process between germination and 2/3 weeks that would be way helpful.

thanks a lot for this kick ass guide

Thank you, thank you, thank you, for this thread. I have six bag seeds that are right now still in a Tupperware. Four have sprouted. I really hope I can get them all growing. I kill everything I try to grow. So here's keeping my fingers crossed that I don't kill off my little happy plants. Thanks again.
