great info... i tried doing a ghetto germination the other day. Basically i wrapped them in paper towels and soaked them and left them on the window sill for 2 days. I came back and there was a SMALL sign of a root.... but the seeds looked unhealth (bag seeds), so I gave up. However, the seeds I orderdered from SD are white widow and pre-female and cost a pretty penny... hopefully w/ this advice I will not mess up this process =)

warmer is usually better...80-85 degrees or so..room temp will suffice though.

alright i read the thread and started germination with bagseed now its been 3 or 4 days (can't remember) and still there is no taproot. it looks like a couple of them have cracked but they've been like that for about a day now and still no taproot. are the seeds no good or should i just keep waiting?

Just give em a day or 2 and see if anything happens!
Germinating a seed can take anywhere from 1 day to 2 weeks!
Another method of speeding up the process is called 'Scuffing'
1) Get a matchbox and line the inside with sandpaper
2) Place the seed in the box and close it
3) GENTLY shake the matchbox for a few minutes!
U have weakened the outer protective shell of the seed and it will be easier for the tap root to break through! (Info taken 4m 'Cannabis Grow Bible' < GR8 book)

when i put the seeds in the pot does it need sun light or should i give it sun light after they have sprouted? And can any when tell me the best way to put the seed in the soil. It always seem that i fuck up that part. Problem is i cant plant it with the pointy side up and white thing down they always lean to the side.

Great guide...been working for me really well.

Sup weeddog.

1) Leave the seeds in the shade till after they sprout, then give them sun or put them under a light.

2) With the seed in the soil...I use a pencil. Moisten, don't soak, the soil first. Then put a small hole (About half an inch down) with the pencil. Drop the seed down the hole, and just get it so that the root is down. Carefully move it around with a pencil if needed.

I got some afgani on the way and i hope this method works cause i lost 20 seeds from that soacking it in water shit.

Use lukewarm water for germination. And dont soak your towels.....keep them damp.....Dont forget to cover to keep moisture in.....

Its taking forever for my seeds to germanate. I cant wait till the do though

I have found that keeping your zip lock bag of damp paper towels to germinate in a computer case while the computer is on is best so long as you have a hot computer like my overlocked palamino chip, muhahahaha who would have known that a temputure flaw in the design could come in handy, lol
