Awkward Root Growth

I germinated my seeds, then placed them in dixie cups and let them sprout, the sprouts roots grew up past the soil by about 1-2 inches. is this ok? should i just add more soild so that the roots are covered? I cant take pics because I just got Vista and it doesnt comply with my camera software

Can add more soil I'm guessing it's not 1-2inchs thats crazy lol... if it's that much you need to reset it. Make sure your soil isn't super compacted.. air it out, crumble it up. Snag a cheap Coco Coir 4x4 brick for like $5.00 and add 1gallon of water.. it'll fill like 10 party cups and it's a nice medium alt if your using potting soil. Mine did the same thing in potting soil..
