I've got a 2 week old plant thats about 6 inchs tall and I keep a 65watt wal-mart grow bulb about 5 inches away for 12hrs a day so do I need to move it closer, farther or get a bigger bulb is the quistion..

That Sounds to me like an incandescant spot- grow bulb

They'll raise a small plant, but they waste alot of energy are really not worth it for the heat they create.

Use Compact fluorescents for vegetative growth. Start with 2 27W daylight spiral bulbs. $10-$15 each. Then as the plants get bigger add 2 27W soft white spiral bulbs.

If you can afford it, Buy a 400 W high pressure sodium system, althought they can be pricey, they're worth it.

I can't afford that. Check out what I've done with fluorexcents in my wall unit grow op below. Maybe it'll give you a little inspiration

yeah sounds good, but go to walmart if you live near one theygot 2packs of 26 watt daylight CFL's $6.44.

How much is american sales tax?

In canada we have 14% sales tax 7% GST and 7%PST

varies from diff states, but I'm around 6%.
