Question Qs on my first grow, i think itll be a GOODN

ok ive been doin all kinds of readin and these forums have helped most greatly in gettin me started however ive got a few questions.

my grow box is gonna be inside a fridge, its already sealed, lockable and stealthy i only plan on growin two plants, both from a hydro bucket, and i also plan on a scrog method. ill be venting it with computer fans. most of it is described in my crudely drawn diagram below.

Now my questions:
1) Im plannin on using just flouros for the whole shabang, start to finish, like plain store bought ones from walmart, the highest watts i can get prob 150 or 250. and i plan on havin three of them. i would like to use better lights but funds wont allow it. will these work from start to finsh?

2) I figure the lights wont emit to much heat so, will the computer fans be enough for ventilation?

3) Lastly, i think most of my bases are covered, ive got some more shoppin to do, but ill have the timers, smoke detectors (just in case) power supplys and what nots, Have i missed anything, or can i set it up more efficeintly without cost bein to high?

Any ideas or criticism will be humbly and greatly appreciated.

isnt to scale, but ya know

these are my reflectors, just clamp lights

bucket and airstone think this ones gonna be ok or should i get the smaller individual ones?

If you have read any of my post you should realize that your going to need a TDS meter. Also, when talking about sufficent light you must go with the actual wattage, your goal should be to provide each plant you are growing with a minimum of a 100 watts. I don't recommend going hydro unless you can get the proper monitoring equiment and nutes. Hope this helps.

Yes thanks, as far as the tds meter i plan on usin store bought water or water from one of those dispenseries, theres a bunch in my area. and for the nutes theres a hydro store right down the street, its just a matter of pickin wich ones. ive planned on spendin some money on those . and the ph testing ill prob just low ball it with test strips. so i guess my next Q would be, Is all this harder then im makin it out to be?

in hydro you really need to keep your eyes on ph. you can get by w/o a ec/ppm/tds meter but you can't make it w/o ph meter and ph up and down. i'd go with chemical nutes. they're easier to measure if you plan on getting a meter of some sort. dwc can be a bit harder to manage during the summer months. rez temps. seem to always be an issue...

check out the eco-lite range of cfls.. much larger than standard, and not too expensive. still cheap and economical to run. seen some great closet grows with a 200w eco, changing spectrum for veg and flower.

good luck (and do a grow diary)!

Ya im plannin on loggin my progress.

Well ive started construction, and im pretty impressed with myself, finally started to get things pieced together. heres some pics..

this is just after i started guttin the fridge, took the divider out the middle, and the door shelves for more room. gonna leave freezer shelfs cause there not in the way of anything

After i cleaned the F out of it

A mock setup, i aso plan on hangin mylar where the shelves used to be, cause i think the glossy white plastic on the inside of the fridge should reflect fine.

this is how my fans will go im gonna put them next to each other cause theres a part in the fridge where its just foam and insulation on both sides, im plannin on ducting one to the bottom.

power cord out the back, was lucky there was a hole big enough already there, and the back view of where ill put my fans

what do you guys think so far?

He aboslutely needs a pH meter and without a TDS meter, I'd bet he'll burn them or have major macro nute deficiencies. Yes that is what happens when you don't have proper monitoring equipment. No DWC isn't hard it just takes a lot more monitoring.

Hi

I tell EVERYONE that grows in a fridge, I use it to grow seedlings but get them out as quick as I can. Fridges are designed to be cold, so be carferful when the lights go out. It will get very cold! Even in Summer.

Hope this helps

Def. and thanks for the advice. the way im designing it, when the lights go out the cpu power supply which im usin to power the cpu fans should be enough to make just the right mount of heat, theres still alot of tweakin to be done once i actually get my clones in there. all in good time
