smoking and usage

Well i have spent a few months laying low and reading and gathering more equipment before my next grow, im gonna do a 4 plant DWC grow this time and was wondering if i could get some responses on the age old question, HPS vs. MH for veg, i have 400 watt. bulbs of both, and i hear vegging under MH makes for more potent budds, but HPS may let you yield more, i was wondering on your guys thoughts on this as i think i should vegg with the MH because its not that reddish/orange glow, MH has that white/blue spectrum that i think will be easier to conceal any thoughts or comments are greatly apreciated.

Veg with MH, no question. Vegging with HPS will work but can cause the plants to stretch. MH will help keep them low and compact. For flower, of course, switch to the HPS.

can i veg with 175W mh and keep it lower to the plant tops to tyr and delay stretching or use the 400`s to start with?

any comments are greatly apreciated

Yeah, only don't get it to low and only for the first 2-3 weeks then your going to want get your big light going. It will not hurt to leave the 175 in there for the whole grow.

Yep, veg with MH, it has a better spectrum suited for specifically veggin. Once you start flowering, switch to HPS.

I would get a HPS/MH switchable light and ballast.....

Mh is great for veg, but HPS will also work. But if you have an option, go the MH.

Then it's a simple switch of bulb when you go into 12/12 with the HPS.

As far as light leaks, light is light - doesn't matter if it's MH blue/white light or it's the HPS orange/amber light. Both are bright and need to be hidden the same. Although the HPS can penetrate through different materials better than the MH.

Im just sayin that i dont think MH goind during the evening or dusk is quite as sketchy as an amber/reddish glow that is eyecatching as soon as the sun starts to set, i think the HPS is the brightest light i have ever looked at, it seems to just catch my eyes more or somehting,
id think a fellow would need sunglasses to actualy NEED that kind of bulb, i cant imagine a 1200 watter lol

id suggest, those '' light leaks'' that your concerned with,,,,,

get rid of them,,, something that small '' and overlooked'' could be a PROBLEM,,,,

best to end the leak,,,, whatever it takes,,,,,,, mc, gyver it !!!!!!!!!!

doubleing up on tarps took care of everything....

and i hung them up to raise atuomaticly with a drinking straw and a shoe lace, and a peprclip. mcgyver
