Male Hash Test

Ok so recently I grew 7 plants (my first indoor grow) and 5 of them turned out to be male. So now I look around on these forums and online and everyone seems to have a different opinion as to weather or not male plants do or do not produce hash. So I'm going to put my male plants through the same process GIMpy12<SCRIPT type=text/javascript> vbmenu_register("postmenu_1297598", true); </SCRIPT> did on his forum "six ways to make hash" (http://forum.grasscity.com/seasoned-...make-hash.html). That is, I'm going to take an ounce of dried male and attempt to turn it into something useful. If all turns out well then I'll use the process on all of the male matter and show you the results. Oh and fyi, the males were over 2 feet each and were in their preflowering stage when I plucked them.

Yeah will do, thanks for posting. It's all still drying right now, should be done within a couple weeks. Funny how, in one day, this post is on page 5 of the forums. Well I guess I'll just keep posting here and hope that I still have viewers when it's done. If not then I'll just link it on my profile or something.

Here they are after putting them in some big ass jars. I'll be grinding them and drying them further from here.

... And here it is after grinding. I know theirs still alot of debate over the net as to wether or not to grind it before making hash. Some people might say that it puts too much plant material into the hash, where others might say that it allows for more THC to be extracted. This test is to see if male plants will give anything smokeable though so quality really isent an issue here.

And drying... and drying... and drying... Hey check it out, I put a whole new meaning to the technique "Sea Of Green". Trying to maximize surface area to help with drying time. I'm not gonna heat it up though, to me that seems to trap too much of the choloro-crap in it and ruins the taste completely for me.

Well that worked well, it's nice and dry now and ready for the test. I have about 2.3 ounces so I'm going to do what he did and make bubble hash out of it and iso the remains.

Ok so I followed the process as closely as I could with the equipment I had to work with. The result from 1/4th ounce (7 grams) of this male weed was the little bit of hash you see below. It's not gold like the one in the forum before (too much plant matter in it?) but it works. If your selling then I wouldnt recommend waisting your time and money with this, but if your like me and you just want to grow and smoke then I would definatly recommend trying this out. You dont get alot of bang for your buck but it's better than throwing it away. Atleast to me it is.

Smoke Report-

First try (1/4 ounce male weed) I just smoked it straight from the bowl like weed and it had almost no effect. Their was a little light headedness. Second try (1/4 ounce male weed) I sprinkled it on top of some tobacco and hit it. It went something like this...

Hit one:
-Holy shit. I couldnt hold in half as much as I could with normal weed w/o coughing it out. It took me a while to empty the chamber of smoke.

Hit two:
-Normal and smooth as the cig would normally be.

Conclusion- I'm guessing that with the first little bit of hash I couldnt produce enough smoke to utalize the THC. I dont know how that works but you cant argue with results. With the second little bit I tried I think it was so harsh from the hash(no pun intended) being mixed in with it. By the second hit the hash was gone so I was just hitting the tobacco. Here's the question you've been waiting for... Am I high? Yes I would say I am definatly high right now seeing as though I'm typing out this page in a way that doesnt really make any sense at all. Anywho, it's not a real trippy high that would blow your mind like OMG HAXXORZ, but yeah I'm high so now tomorrow I want to finish the rest of it and try polishing off a gram if I can get that much out of it. Then we can see what the iso hash brings us.

a budddy of mine gave me 3 30 gal trash bags of leafs and i made alot of iso hash,i still have 1 1/2 bags left,it works but these were female leafs and i now have 3 male plants drying so we will see the diff between female and male ,good job id rep u 2 if i knew how

Thanks guys, your support really does mean alot to me. Hey p_dj do you think you could give me an estimate as to how much you got from your fem weed and the quality? From the Bubble Hash I'd say you could estimate about .3 to .5 grams per 1/4 ounce of male.
