I know that, but when you LST it, and it hits the point where it's about to touch the beginning of the plant's circle and you put it into flowering wouldn't it just continue growth and bump into itself?

Thought thats why he said to cut the top or whatever when you make it back to where you started. And with the other side branches strapped down, and growing towards the light, those should be the only things growing? Right? And growing towards the light, making a bunch of colas?

At least thats what I got from it...

I haven't gone through the whole circling. My purpose has been to get the plant to grow wider and to get more light in the low parts. I was originally planning on flowering in a short (about 3 feet high) cab, but I've since upgraded to a tent. Here is what she looked like at the start (just spread the branches a little), then about a week or so later, and finally today (the huge one in the middle). She's been vegging almost 8 weeks now, and I am going to flower her soon. This is my first grow, so she's got a few deficiencies, but she's getting really healthy now.

I'm not trying to be a smart ass, but I can't understand what makes it stop the main stem stop growing? Does it just sense that it has no more room??

The main stem doesn't stop growing in LST, it is bent downward, which causes hormone flow to shift and create new tops (they grow just like they would if they were main stems). If you keep moving them around, you'll create more tops, which means more bud sites which means more buds.

I understand that, but the stem continues to grow despite being bent backwards, until it reaches an almost complete circle, then the author/op says to top it, so is it because of the hormones being rerouted they'll stop working on the original main stem and put more priority to the branches/bud sites??

Oh wait, so the main stem starts to go upwards like all the other side branches? Damn I feel like such a dumb ass >.< Thanks for the patience.

The only way I see to improve on this is by using square pots instead of round ones.

square 1x1 ----> 1
circle diameter 1 ----> r^2*pi = 0.5*0.5*3.14= 0.785
1/0.785 = 1.27388....
So a square is bigger by 27.4%

hi guys, for my first grow, I did LST to a couple of my plants. Here is a pic of my favorite liittle shorty. An Indica species, plant is very short. With LST she was no more than 1foot tall at the highest point. The only thing I did not do was (trim/prune/fim/cut) the main head. (cola) I got about 20 grams of smoke from her, the main cola weighed in at 14.2g wet and 8g dry.

This is the guide that helped me get the full grip of LST, and it is a great technique especially for CFL grows since this method helps the entire plant get light and keep the plant more uniform in height especially since the CFL's can be placed so close to the plant, mucho cabezas I say!

Yield depends on a number of things - veg time, genetics, nutrients, co2, and most importantly, LIGHT. Experienced growers typically look for .5-1 gram per watt of light. You can get much higher yields outdoor because there's so much light. I chose indoor for security/privacy as well as my ability to control the environment effectively (my weather-making machine broke ).

Okay, I am assuming these okay?
You need loads of light for growth, then you need loads of C02, to proccess the light, but what about oxygen? Do just the roots need that? Or that whole plant?

And if anyone knows, what's the best easy-ventilation set up?
