I have never thought of this, but I'm curious to how long I can keep my mothers in veg. for cloning?

They are all good strains originally grown from fem'd seeds. 2 are WW strains X'd w/ I believe NL and the other w/ a Skunk strain, one is Haze X'd w/ something, I forgot which strain, and the other is Ice 2003.

I just want to know how long I can keep these going, or should I set-up a clone of ea. and use them as mothers and flower the mothers I have now?

I have been taking clones off my present mothers for about 1 yr now. I noticed today when I went to where I keep the mother plants they are losing some vigor. They are ea. in 5 gallon containers, and are kept under 18/6 light cycles. I was thinking of taking one more set of clones off ea. one and then keep them in veg. for my mothers.

Just seeking some input.

One year in a 5 gallon pot is the reason its looking weak, root bound is the problem and or lack of nutrients in the remaining soil.

What i do is only keep the mothers for about 3 cloning sessions and then on the last pic 2 of the healthiest clones and make those mother plants and flower the old mother plant.

So Dierwolf, how long does your old mother stay alive, a year or so? Also about how many clones do you take off of her before you flower the old mother? Thanks.

Yes, that is what I was thinking, I was going to take 3 or 4 cuttings off ea. one, then pick the strongest one of ea. strain and use them for mothers. I can flower them where they are b/c I have my cloning set-up in the same place I grow my clones. The main stalks on these things are like 2" in diameter. My friend said the branches are thicker than most main stalks he has seen........

They should give me a nice supply of decent bud. I will flush the soil and begin 12/12 w/ my bloom fert. Thanks for the reply.
