40 Watt Reflector Bulb

Hey people. Ive just started growing my own plant and its about and inch and a half out of the soil now. I was just wondering if a 40 Watt Reflector Bulb is OK to use, it gives off alot of heat and is very bright, and at one point you could see steam coming from the soil so I moved it further away from the light because I didnt think it was suppost to be that hot that steam comes from the soil. The temperature is just between 20 degrees C and 25, just from the light. So could someone give me a reply to let me know if this is ok or not or if I should use a flourecant light, I have one that is 60 Watts and gives off a bit of heat but not as much as the reflector bulb.

do you have some sort of fan on it too? cuz that could take away a lot of the heat on the plant

No but I got a thermometer and realised that the plant was far too near the light, but ive moved it much further away now and the temperature is just below 80 Degrees F. Is this still too much heat, should i move it further away? And by the way is the bulb i said im using ok? -EDIT- Also I forgot to say the plant is in the cupboard in my room in the attic and is quite drafty in there, so does this mean i wont need a fan? -EDIT- Sorry keep thinking of new things to ask... but so you can answer if the bulb im using is ok I have a link with a picture of it http://images.google.co.uk/images?sv...eflector+light

You have already been told you have the wrong type of bulb, and been informed of the type of bulb you require.

You're right I am cool in real life, I was making a simple point that he had posted in my FIRST thread, that I was making too many threads, as if this thread was my 3rd or 4th. I already took heed to the information given to me in the other threads of mine. I simply noticed that people had put more replies into this one, and looked at it, finding that someone had asked how many threads I was going to make on the subject. Sorry if this is hard for people to understand? And what shitty attitude, everyone seems to be having the attitude with me for simply answering back peoples replies. Some replies of which might annoy me, so when I reply back it may seem I have a shitty attitude, but really I dont I have a thirst for the information I need to make this beautiful plant grow.
