24/0 for entire veg.????

Plants have been under 24/0 lights since sprout. It's been a little over a week now, should I switch to 18/6,20/4, or should I just stay with 24/0???? I have two 24" fluor. lights and 2 42watt CFL(2600 lumen).

It's mainly a personal preference. I use 18/6 to regulate temp, electricty, and i think the plants like the break.

Others prefer 24 hours, they both work, but i'm partial to 18/6

Yea, i agree, ive noticed around 3-5 weeks the light seems to be too much dependant on the strain. At a certian age, i think they like the break, and youll like the break in electricity.

I say leave it on 24/7 because its only 84watts which is still less than a TV so theres nothing to worry about money wise unless you have a heat problem (I know its still hot as fuck here in Cali.). Plants synthesize and grow 24/7 only when the light is on 24/7.

I'd do 24/7 if the temps are fine.

I will go from now on with all of my grows like this: 24/7 seed to sprout, 18/6 sprout to pre-flower, 12/12 for flower.

It's my understanding that the plants use the dark cycles for root growth. While 24/0 is definitely doable, many people prefer the 18/6 for this very reason.

Ive heard of doing 24/0 1st week 23/1 2nd week 22/2 3rd and so on intill you get to 12/12 then leave it there to flower. mainly its your own personal preference. im experimentin still to see what i like im now trying 22/2 1st week 20/4 for the 2nd week and then 18/6 there for.
