Will this work????
hi people, im sort of a newbie at all this as i have only ever tried growing my own once. im in the uk and last time i managed to get two northern light plants to about 2.5ft high. i then started he 12/12 routine. it started to bud but after a while it just "paused". i got about a quarter but smoked none of it as it tasted vile. i do not know where i went wrong... any suggestions???
i was using 2 x 1ft flouro tubes and to my amazement the plants were growing healthily. so basically why did the bud taste so nasty?? Cheers people thx!! |

hi T.bug, wat do you mean by probably mold? yeah back then i bought the seeds online. cant remember what the site was called but it was the name of a shop in amsterdam. i am going there again in december so thinking about bringing back some seeds myself this time.
The northern lights seeds cost me £12 for 10 seeds, sadly i only got to know about the wonders of the internet after i had more or less destroyed 8 of em!! i will soon post a descripton of my setup, (its in a closet)!! and also pics. |

did u flush out the soil with water the last week or 2 before you took the buds. if not you might have been tasting the ferts...

hey! thx for the quick replies!!
By this do u mean just pouring lots o water into the pot? if so then no i didnt. To be honest i noticed that the one larger bud along with all the other smaller ones just simply stopped growing so i picked it off and left it by the window to dry it out only to find it tasted as it did. could sum1 plz tell me the procedure of preparing the bud to smoke and when do u know wether it is ready to harvest? THX All replies and advice are MUCH appreciated |

get a microscope to look at the trichomes. if theyre all clear its not ready, if there all cloudy with some amber there ready. some people like more amber, its up to you just not when theyre all clear. also you want to cure it as well as drying it, put it in a airtight jar for a 2 weeks after the bud dries. open up the jar a few times a day and move the buds around though too so they dont get moldy. curing lets the chlorophyl (spelling) break down, which makes the bud smoke smoother and taste better. these things on top of the not flushing is probably what made the buds taste bad.

High 72! good points as well. But, be very clear in what i say, mold can take hold and start growing EVEN on live plants. dooming them from WAY earlier than you might imagine! Peace, TBug

here in cali i notice my humidity has been fluxuating lately. 60% in the morning 20% from noon till dark, should i be really concerned with mold even when i dont spray the leaves or anythying?temps have been 60s at night and 80s-low 90s in the day

not too sure about the humididty guys!! i read sumwhere to try and keep the temperature in my grow box roughly between 75 - 85 fahrenheit. and as i said i was using 2x 1ft fluoro tubes which let off hardly any heat at all.
I had to keep the lights under an inch away from the babies at all times!! If not they would start to stretch and grow tall an lanky!! Anyhow.... my new grow room (closet) is nrly set up  so keep an eye out for pics!!!! |

Does anybody know where i can get seeds from without having to give my credit card details online.
December is a long time to wait for my trip to the "Dam" as my grow room is more or less ready to be put into use!!! Thanx!! |
