auto pot question about obtaing coco fibres

hiya i recently brought a auto pot system and had to use a soil based medium with coco fibers in it but that isnt really absorbing the water properly so i was just wondering is it possible to use the coco fibers that you find hanging baskets are made from i was thinking i theory mixed with per-lite it mite be a better medium for grow any help would be appreciated

Have you asked in the coco section of the forum? They make coco for growing and even for reptile tanks. I know coco is PH`d the same as hydro and can dry out fast, if on a continous water system it may work pretty good. Check out the coco section theres a number of people there who know alot more then i do and thats where I would start. Theres one guy AskEd he`s the coco guru there.
