CO2 Can I just let loose with a fire extinguisher

O.K. this may sound a stupid question but I'm a newbie to the indoor scene. Outdoor Gorilla farming not a prob, but I havemoved to a new area and outdoors space is hard to come by.

I have set up a fairly big room and I have been looking around for cheap CO2 systems. I was wandering if your normal red 5Ltr CO2 Fire Extinguisher would do the trick, if I blasted my plants once a day.

i think it would not work due to the other additives that are put in... because C02 is not a powder is it? So that other crap could kill your plants or when you harvest it, it may taste like shit?

What other crap?? A CO2 extinguisher contains just that - CO2, and nothing else. At high pressure in the bottle CO2 is in the form of a liquid, when you pull the handle CO2 gas comes out, but due to the rapid adiabatic expansion, it is very cold, so cold that it may even contain a few particles of solid CO2, dry ice.
I see no reason at all why this should not work, as long as you don´t frost your babies, ie don´t fire it directly at them. But there is not a lot of gas in one extinguisher.

Dude you ever get blasted by a co2 fire extinguiser, damn cold...you will freeze your plants end of story if you try that. Hey you said you had good luck in the past growing outdoors, right? So why are you going to screw up your indoor grow by adding co2, as long as you have good ventalation your co2 level's will be as high if not higher than outdoors.

plus 5 litres (just over a pound) of co2 wount last you but a one time treatment, seeing that the plants use it up very very quickly and to get the PPM you need will require more than that, unless your growing in a 2ft x 2ft x 2ft box.

Your best bet is to go where there sell paintball equipment and buy a 20 pound or 50 pound Co2 Tank and use that...

Yeah, you could also get a scuba tank (not sure if that's what you're talking about) and then get it filled at some place where they fill Co2, they're there but you may have to search a bit for it. This might be inefficient because I'd imagine you'd use up the Co2 pretty quickly and it's most likely a pretty penny to refill the tanks, but I might be completely wrong.

Just buy some big, cheap bottles of fizzy drink and foliar feed your plants with a mister. that gives a good amount of c02
