Retarded Seedling

Well this is my first attempt at growing anything. I germed a THC bomb seed in paper towel before placing it into the PH'd rockwool. I then put the rockwool in a sealed container under a 200w CFL to keep it warm, within 12 hours it had a nice inch sprout with the first 2 leaves I then left it in there for a couple more days and nothing else happened.

After 4 days of the seedling not growing or moving at all it was slowly turning brown. Took it out and put it into a homemade dwc under a 24w CFL it's now been 3 more days and it has grown some new leaves but it looks like it may now be high itself. The new leaves are all quite mangled.

Could i have left it in the container for too long and cooked it or is it something else? The leaves look surprisingly green so I'm thinking there may still possibly be some chance of it surviving. Have a look at the photos and tell me what you think cheers.

That's not too uncommon and it'll probably out grow that trait... It is weirder than most though.

I agree with Loki. Did it come out wearing its helmet? Seed split and half stayed on as the leaves tried to open? Let it go, treat it normal, and hope you don't hear "FEED ME, MAURICE" in the middle of the night.....

If it's growing now, it will probably straighten out as it gets bigger. I wouldn't worry to much about it.

You`d be suprised what you can get out of some retarded plants. I had one retard plant a year or so ago not as retarded as his but it also split into two main stems. It grew out nicely and was a decent producer with some good sticky buds.

I just use a couple of daylight cfl`s for the first week or so. To me I`d rather have it focus on getting a good root system going before giving it alot more light.

There's an interesting build up of what looks like salt on the rockwool as you can see in the first photo, is this normal or should I be worried?

Is that all the lighting you have on it? A single 24w cfl? I'm not criticizing, I'm only curious because I plan to eventually grow using just one cfl.

I had the 24w cfl on her just for the first week and a bit, I've brought out the 200w cfl for her now and she's loving life!
