My Grow Spot (Indoors)

I'll show you guys a picture and you can tell me if it will be enough for indoor growing (say 10 plants if I can).

Yeah, thats my window seat in my attic, I can control the temperature very well here, I can keep it 40 degrees cold or 90 degrees hot.

My little Seedlings..

What kind of pots should I use? How big? How needed is a lighting solution in my situation (considering I have that nice window right there). Do I still need flouro's or an HPS Light?

Thanks - Coin Operated Boy

You should probably start the seeds in Dixie cups, then when they're ready to transplant move them to like 2 gallon pots, then right before flowering move them to 5 gallon pots. Of course, if you want ten plants, 10 five gallon buckets might not fit in there, so you'll have to see what fits.

As for the lighting, it's a nice window but won't do anything for the plants that you have farthest away from the window. I would definately get some flourous for your plants.

Plus, if you're relying on the sunlight, you're going to have to grow by it's schedule, which is a lot longer growing time than it would be if you used indoor lights.

The 42watt bulbs will cost about $9 per bulb. If you want 10 plants you'd probably want like 20 lights, which would probably be really clustered. If you're set on 10 plants you might have to spring for the heavy duty flourous likethe 200 watter, but those are like $70 or so, I think. Two 42 watt CFL's would probably be sufficient for 2 plants, but ask around.

As my first grow I'll probably work on two or three, you may be right, 10 might be a bit of an information overload, considering I'll be smoking throughout the processor...

But, thats like 25 bucks, and they're light bulbs that fit perfectly in any lamp?

Sweet.

Yeah, the CFL's will fit in many regular light sockets. Make sure you get cool white bulbs, as they have the right color spectrum.

Awesome because if I get a powerful enough one, there is a light right at the top of that window seat (I can ajdust the power output)!!!

I could like get a really powerful light socket cfl (like 100 watt or something, and just fit it in that hole up there!!

That'd be sweet!

People never seem to have any success growing in windows. I think you need to be totally outdoors or indoors.

Remember the light has to be about 2 inches off the plant.................... Your not going to grow anything with a light thats at the top of you room.

I donīt think those power altering switches work with fluorescents.

Okay, cool then, I'll just use my directional lamp, and throw a big fat flouro in there..

Can I cover up the smell of two or three plants without much trouble?
