Sexing

Point taken, kinda new to all this scientific approach. Cause "I been standin on the rock waitin for my seeds to grow"...

ok my plant is growing outdoors it about 3 weeks old and today two leaves got chewed off by something 1 was 1 of the original round leaves and the other was the first jagged leaf of the opposite side. other than that it has two more blades that are starting 2 grow will it survive?is there anything i can do 2 help or prevent this from happening again?should i just start over or will it recover? anyhelp or advice is greatly apreciated. thanks

Yeah definitely read the forum stickies. There are some great threads out there on germination. But you do want to put the seeds in some damp paper towel, put the damp towel in a zip lock baggie [not sealed], put baggie over a warm surface such as a computer and check them 2 times a day. One that little tap root has poked through the seed plant them immediately.

I'd love to, but i'd have to use my dad's camera, and that just seems like a bonehead move waiting to happen...

is it possible that the pistils come out a little late? based on the pic (below), it looks like the top right corner mostly, but i cant tell if they're pistils or maybe their gonna pop out later

If you use dad's camera just make sure you know how delete the pictures you took. If it has been only 1 week since 12/12 nothing is late it uis right on time.

Hey everyone whats up?....I'm brand new to this site, and I recently purchased some dutch passion oasis seeds from sensibleseeds.com, they were feminised. I have planted 3, and they are already smelling. I'm new to this so can anyone help me out and tell me how often i should be watering them. They stand about 10-11 inches high. Right now im giving them about 1 cup of water for the 3 once a day. Basicly i'm watering them when the soil is dry.

Caprice, since this is your first post I'll try to be gentle, but...

This is a thread about how to tell the sex of MJ plants. That's why the thread is titled "Sexing."

The whole beginner's forum is a place where you can start your very own threads asking your very own questions.

But before posting questions check the sticky posts and grow guides and use your search button because the basic questions have already been answered there. As a general word of advice, do a lot of reading in these places, ultimately that's the best way to learn all this stuff.

To your question, your watering sounds right -- water thoroughly when you do and then don't water again until the soil gets dry. Stick a finger into the soil and test if it's dry inside, not just at the top layer. I can't gauge from here how much water per how many days that would equate to, you'll have to tend to that. Allowing the soil to dry out a bit prevents root rot and stimulates the roots to grow deeper and stronger in search of water.

i found some of my plants have show what sex they are 2 of them males 2 female. kinda weird i must of messed up the light cycle . can i stop them from flowering ? , would it be ok to take a clone from a flowering plant ? .

spunky_felix, plants sometimes show sex with perfect 18/6 or 24/7 lighting. If you brought them down to 12/12 to sex you can bring them back to 18/6 for more vegging.

Clones can be taken at any time but the deeper into flowering it goes, the lower the success rate will be that it roots.

Now now, lets not stress the little girl. Just sex a clone or use the bag method.

Sexing a clone is a waste IMO. By the time the clone shows sex, the plant itself will have shown sex; that is if the first 2 weeks the plant was on 24/7 then the next 2 weeks were 18/6.

Going down to 12/12 and then back up might stress it a little but, I have never seen any troubles with it. I am now just patient enough for the plant to show sex all by itself.
