Anything you make (images, pictures, video, writings) are automatically copyrighted by you. There's no paperwork, nothing. Your works are your works and you hold the copyright to them, end of story. You can file an official copyright notice thing, some people who have a lot to lose do (authors of novels, publishing houses, movie companies, tv companies, etc), but it's optional. It's not like a patent where you have to apply, it's automatic.
