I've tripped on shrooms and LSD several times, but always with friends... and that moment of ego-transcendent clarity has never lasted more than a few seconds.

For my first solo trip, given my previous experience with meditation and relative ease with managing solitude, think I could go without a guide? I actually get the feeling that being with other people would freak me out...
